Dear PayPal, its customers, and our friends around the globe,
This is an official communiqué from Anonymous and Lulz Security in the name of AntiSec.
In recent weeks, we've found ourselves outraged at the FBI's willingness to arrest and threaten those who are involved in ethical, modern cyber operations. Law enforcement continues to push its ridiculous rules upon us - Anonymous "suspects" may face a fine of up to 500,000 USD with the addition of 15 years' jailtime, all for taking part in a historical activist movement. Many of the already-apprehended Anons are being charged with taking part in DDoS attacks against corrupt and greedy organizations, such as PayPal.
What the FBI needs to learn is that there is a vast difference between adding one's voice to a chorus and digital sit-in with Low Orbit Ion Cannon, and controlling a large botnet of infected computers. And yet both of these are punishable with exactly the same fine and sentence.
In addition to this horrific law enforcement incompetence, PayPal continues to withhold funds from WikiLeaks, a beacon of truth in these dark times. By simply standing up for ourselves and uniting the people, PayPal still sees it fit to wash its hands of any blame, and instead encourages and assists law enforcement to hunt down participants in the AntiSec movement.
Quite simply, we, the people, are disgusted with these injustices. We will not sit down and let ourselves be trampled upon by any corporation or government. We are not scared of you, and that is something for you to be scared of. We are not the terrorists here: you are.
We encourage anyone using PayPal to immediately close their accounts and consider an alternative. The first step to being truly free is not putting one's trust into a company that freezes accounts when it feels like, or when it is pressured by the U.S. government. PayPal's willingness to fold to legislation should be proof enough that they don't deserve the customers they get. They do not deserve your business, and they do not deserve your respect.
Join us in our latest operation against PayPal - tweet pictures of your account closure, tell us on IRC, spread the word. Anonymous has become a powerful channel of information, and unlike the governments of the world, we are here to fight for you. Always.
Signed, your allies,
Lulz Security (unvanned)
Anonymous (unknown)
AntiSec (untouchable)

Anonymous has just dumped files today about IRC Federal, a government contracted IT firm, in honor of their #FuckFBIFriday 'holiday'. They've gotten access to contracts, internal documents, development schematics, logins and more.
It doesn't seem like anything particularly big was found, but they did take a peak at a proposal "for the FBI to develop a "Special Identities Modernization (SIM) Project" to "reduce terrorist and criminal activity by protecting all records associated with trusted individuals and revealing the identities of those individuals who may pose serious risk to the United States and its allies".
More pointedly, Anon addressed the workers of IRC Federal with a pseudo-mission statement/philosophy:
"If you place any value on freedom, then stop working for the oligarchy and start working against it. Stop aiding the corporations and a government which uses unethical means to corner vast amounts of wealth and proceed to flagrantly abuse their power. Together, we have the power to change this world for the better."
I think it's safe to assume they're going to keep going with these hacks then? You can find the torrent to download the leak files at The Pirate Bay.

In the last few weeks, it's hard no to move for all the articles titled 'Who are Anonymous?' though for one Guardian journalist finding out consisted of chatting to some members who remained an0n and observing the IRCs.
It's a good read, but here are some of the best most interesting quotes:
"You wouldn't say that it's directed; more that it swings in various directions like a flock of birds, apparently aware of its own vector but unable to force it on any of its members.
They're in it for the lulz
"I've seen some people do some fucked up shit 'for the lulz'," an0n told me. "People trolling RIP pages on Facebook, missing girls pages. It's the most racist, xenophobic place on the internet. It's addictive, and it pisses [outside] people off."
"If you had a DVD of Harry Potter 7 Part 1, you would make 12-15 grand selling it to the [hacker] scene [on IRC]", my guide explained.
The real thing about Anonymous, he says, is that it's like Fight Club, where you don't say that you're in it,
But an0n pointed out that there are more serious players in there: "I know a guy who is using a botnet of 25k computers to do this," he observed. Hired, I asked, or his own creation? "No idea,"
But of course Anonymous isn't really about freedom; it doesn't have a manifesto as such.
Since then, every successive year has pushed access to the net earlier and earlier, meaning that what was novel to the previous one becomes commonplace for successors. Peer-to-peer? Done it. Bittorrent? Everyone does. Swarming attacks on sites? It's new this year, but it will be standard procedure in a year or two.
This generation of Anonymous members is going to grow up. But the idea won't go away."-GuardianIn the last few weeks, it's hard no to move for all the articles titled 'Who... more

Today Friday, June 25th is the 4th year anniversary of Gilad Shalit's captivity, and theJewish Community Relations Council of New York is asking local residents to mark the day by writing notes to the Israeli soldier held prisoner by Hamas in Gaza. These messages will be delivered to the International Red Cross and the JCRC-NY will demand that Hamas allow the IRC to visit and deliver the notes to Gilad in accordance with international humanitarian law. Since he was abducted in 2006 all such requests have been denied. Copies of the messages will also be sent to the prisoner's parents, Noam and Aviva Shalit. The move to construct a musical fountain, a rock garden, a restaurant, an amphitheatre & a parking space inside the 12 acre Nishad Bagh defies logic.
The Brindavan Garden & the GRS Fantasy/Amusement Park are on the outskirts of the city whereas the Nishad Bagh is right in the heart of the city near the Hardinge Circle / Mysore Palace.
Citizens go to the parks in the city limits to enjoy nature, trees, peace, serenity & tranquillity & certainly not for eating, entertainment, fun and frolic. 3 other parks are very close to Nishad Bagh.
They're People's Park towards its north-west, Gandhi Vana (Horticulture Park) towards its south & Curzon Park towards its west.
The musical fountain with all its noise pollution in the evenings will/would disturb the bird habitat and the sleeping / hunting habits / patterns & rest timings of the non-nocturnal & nocturnal/night birds (which hunt at night) & the nearby students of the Vanivilasa Ursu Girls’ Primary / Secondary High School & College.http://picasaweb.google.co.in/indian.tanveer.photos/NishadBaghKuppannaPark... more

It takes a lot of disdain for the human race to use a catastrophic event such as the earthquake in Haiti to peddle people out of their hard earned dollar. Unfortunately, this is what the “Hope for Haiti” telethon is all about. The donations will benefit such foundations as the Clinton Bush Haiti Foundation and UNICEF. Instead of the proceeds going towards a local Haitian organization that would provide the victims with adequate food and water, the millions will be given to a foundation created in part by George W. Bush.
If that does not alarm you, then you have not done your research. Corrupt politicians have no business taking donations for a country in turmoil. There are plenty of organizations that have been operating in Haiti for years, and have therefore proven themselves to be legitimate. The IRC (International Rescue Committee) spends 90% of its funds on beneficial programs, while only using 4% for administrative costs, and 4% on fundraising.

A British woman was among four aid workers killed on Wednesday when their vehicle was ambushed by Islamic militants in Afghanistan.
Dr Jacqueline Kirk, said to be of British-Canadian descent, was gunned down along with three other International Rescue Committee members as they traveled through Logar province to Kabul.
The aid workers were attacked despite their vehicle being clearly marked with the IRC logo, said a spokesman for the New York-based charity, which is yet to name the victims as it tries to contact their families.
Dr Kirk died along with two other female workers - a Canadian and Trinidadian-American - the IRC said. The fourth casualty was their Afghan driver.
The charity said it would be suspending humanitarian aid duties in Afghanistan after 20 years operating in the country.
IRC President George Rupp said: 'We are stunned and profoundly saddened by this tragic loss.
'These extraordinary individuals were deeply committed to aiding the people of Afghanistan, especially the children who have seen so much strife.
'Words are inadequate to express our sympathy for the families and loved ones of the victims and our devoted team of humanitarian aid workers in Afghanistan.'
The attack was carried out by five Islamic militant gunmen who stepped out of a small village area and fired at the IRC vehicle on the main road.
The attack on the eastern outskirts of the capital on Monday afternoon also wounded two other soldiers from 16 Signal Regiment.
Afghan officials said three civilians were killed and 12 injured.A British woman was among four aid workers killed on Wednesday when their vehicle was... more
