What is happening as the US is taken over by fascist forces? If past is prologue:
1. Many police will go along with it
2. People who are otherwise useless will be recruited to enforce "the law" (example TSA)
3. The well-to-do will be more likely to go along with it
4. People who actually work for a living will make up the bulk of the resistance
5. Ultimately, distinctions between "right" and "left" won't matter. Sane and patriotic people will resist regardless of the details of the political background
6. Most people will do nothing and just keep their heads down and try to survive
7. All kinds of government atrocities will take place in broad daylight and most people will just look the other way
8. There will be some heroic people

In my recent article, “Creating Evidence Where There Is None,” about the alleged killing of Osama bin Laden by a commando team of US Seals in Abbottabad, Pakistan, I provided a link to a Pakistani National TV interview with Muhammad Bashir, who lives next door to the alleged “compound” of Osama bin Laden. I described the story that Bashir gave of the “attack” and its enormous difference from the one told by the US government. In Bashair’s account, every member of the landing party and anyone brought from the house died when the helicopter exploded on lift-off. The US news media protects Michael Chertoff. Why? He has done more damage to the US than any person I can think of, living or dead. His record speaks for itself. Somehow, he was working on the PATRIOT Act before 9/11, he had a hand in "normalizing" torture, he sat on his hands and let New Orleaneans die, and now he's engineered a mass irradiation and humiliation program that effects millions of Americans. The new growth industry in the US is criminalizing, harassing, robbing and imprisoning American citizens. Call it the "Chertoff Century."
During 2005-2006, Chertoff worked overtime and spent tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money to develop full-body scanners which which he personally got involved in marketing in 2009 and 2010 when he was out of office.
This is what else was going on in the country at the time. He was the man in command of the federal relief efforts after Katrina in New Orleans.

It is unsurprising that powerful vested interests in business and government, as well as many within the media and academia who are devoted to these powers, attempt to shape perceptions, distort or conceal information, and do so with considerable success, even in relatively free and ostensibly democratic societies. What is almost amazing, however, is that at least one event of the greatest significance in the past one hundred years, was successfully erased from history and the peoples' awareness almost completely. I am talking about the little known "Business Plot" of 1933, in which a number of the most powerful of the American business elites, including individuals from General Motors, Prescott Bush, grandfather of George Bush Jr., J.P. Morgan and the Rockefeller dynasty, attempted to seize the White House by military coup, and to install a fascist regime in America. If there is one thing that the office of President Barack Obama demonstrates it is that democracy does not exist in the United States. This may seem a rather outlandish statement. For many people, the fact that the 44th president is the first black man to preside over the White House – with its American colonial-style architecture – is a tribute to the triumph of US democracy.
But many other more telling facts indicate that Obama is but a figurehead of an unelected government in the US. This unelected power of corporate elites – commercial, financial, military – governs with the same core policies regardless of who is sitting in the White House. Whether these policies are on social, economic or foreign matters, the elected president must obey the direction ordained by the unelected elite.
