Flavor of Love had its run as one of the most watched reality TV shows ever. The show had many criticisms, some say it degraded and disrespected women, as Flavor Flav was portrayed as childish man trying to ease up on some women. Even many of the shows contestants were accused of being a bunch of gold diggers, ghetto, not lady-like, labeled as women with ulterior motives. True or not, the formula worked, even the women who did not take Flav's hand, graced magazine covers and were offered shows of their own.
Shay Johnson better known as Buckeey spoke to HipHopDX to let it be known of what went down. The alum opens up about her then-competition, her true feelings for Flavor Flav, and post-show sex-tape and allegations that she leaked it. HipHopDX: Now that your in the limelight how you feel about all this publicity you’ve been getting. Whether positive or negative?
Buckeey: What do you mean? Because I’ve been getting a lot of publicity off of Flavor of Love. I would say that I have more now I would say that. I would say the publicity is good, where it comes from I got a different feeling about that. More people notice me, wanna be around me. I’ve been getting booked for events so it has it pros and it’s cons.
