More than 20 people have been arrested in Dublin while they protested against Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Ireland. The protests were organized by the Sinn Fein Irish left wing party on Tuesday, the first day of the visit. This is the first visit by a British monarch to the Republic of Ireland in the last hundred years. The event is aimed at improving the relationships between the two countries. At the same time the Irish capital was struck by a protest of pacifists demanding an end to the war in Afghanistan.

The question to ask is this, if Quadaffi is the Devil we DO Know, then what will fill the vaccum when he is ousted from power? Will the Rebels opt for a Free Democracy or will they consider becoming an Islamic Republic like Iran? This same question can be asked of Egypt as well.
France leads the way on this military intevention. If we haven't forgotten history, was it not France that sheltered the Ayatollah Khomeni when the Shah was in control of Iran?
Not that I want to agree with Sean Hannity, of all people, but he brought up the point that the Muslim Brotherhood holds a majority in Egypt. With Mubarack out of the equation that leaves the Brotherhood an open door to gain control in Egypt. Libyan Rebels also ran into Egypt for protection. Ignoring the fact that Islam is a majority mover in these nations is absolutely absurd.
So what are we doing? Are we supporting Democracy or are we opening the biggest 'can of worms' on the planet. You decide! The question to ask is this, if Quadaffi is the Devil we DO Know, then what will fill... more

While Jean-Luc Godard’s life and work has received a plethora of critical attention, a relatively uncharted episode occurred in 1977–1978, when, at the behest of the Samora Machel government, the filmmaker worked in Mozambique to assist in the establishment of the country’s first television station. Having newly acquired its independence from Portugal, the avowedly Marxist government of Machel embarked on a cultural policy emphasizing the country’s autonomy and intending to avoid simply replicating the media landscape of First World countries. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/section-blog/16527-birth-of-the-image-of-a-nation-jean-luc-godard-in-mozambiqueWhile Jean-Luc Godard’s life and work has received a plethora of critical... more

Recently reading a left-wing blog, I came across this lament. It is striking in that it conveys clearly the nature of the battle that is brewing throughout America. The blogger who goes by the handle of “Teacherken” wrote:
“Unless and until we can accept – even actively embrace – the idea of shared sacrifice and collective responsibility, unless and until we understand that we cannot hold on to some things we value in isolation from those we know have to change, we will not be able to make the kinds of changes we need to survive as a liberal democracy.”
Where to start? First, and most important, is the fact that America was never intended to be a “liberal democracy.” From Day One, we were a constitutional Republic. What’s the difference you say? A very big one.
The “liberal democracy” our friend so desperately wants, throws everyone into a pot and dictates government policy on the whims of a scant majority. As virtually all the founders observed, such a form of government means that a majority bands together to take from the minority.
Perhaps Benjamin Franklin said it best when he wrote:
“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb.”
The constitutional Republic our founders gave us was based on the rights of the individual. Government was restricted, in Jefferson’s words “chained down.” But thanks to people like the good Teacherken, those chains have been broken and the voracious beast that government easily becomes is now prowling the countryside looking for victims.
This condition didn’t come out of the blue, it was predicted. Vice President and Senator John Calhoun saw our current state of affairs very clearly 150 years ago when he wrote:
“To maintain the ascendancy of the Constitution over the lawmaking majority is the great and essential point on which the success of the [American] system must depend; unless that ascendancy can be preserved, the necessary consequence must be that the laws will supersede the Constitution; and, finally, the will of the Executive, by influence of its patronage, will supersede the laws.”

Quietly—even stealthily—in the opening days of the New Year, President Barack Obama has set up a “Council of Governors”.
Like the 30-plus czars running America with neither the people’s nor the congress’s blessings, the Council of Governors is already a done deal.
“Is this a first step towards Martial Law, or a tie to the InterPol, RAND National Police Force stuff we’ve been hearing about,” asked a Texas patriot who tipped off Canada Free Press (CFP) after finding news of the new Council of Governors on Twitter. “Is this a sort of Homeland Security Politburo?
“I do know it’s another sleuth order executed without any announcement, OR EXPLANATION to the People.”
Patriots know by now that the promised Obama “transparency” is a fog.
Checking the Net on the Council of Governors, CFP found other than a few blogs only UPI.com had the story as of this morning:
“President Barack Obama Monday established a panel of state governors to collaborate with Washington on a variety of potential emergencies, the White House said.” (UPI.com, Jan. 11, 2010 at 11:54 p.m.). “Obama signed an executive order establishing a panel to be known as the Council of Governors, which will be made up of 10 state governors, to be selected by the president to serve two-year terms. Members will review matters involving the National Guard; homeland defense; civil support; and synchronization and integration of state and federal military activities in the United States, the White House said in a statement.
“The statement said the White House would seek input from governors and governors’ association (sic) in deciding which governors to appoint to the council, which will have no more than five governors from the same party.
“The secretaries of defense and homeland security will also sit on the council, as will presidential assistants for homeland security and counter-terrorism, intergovernmental affairs, the U.S. Northern Command commander, the commander of the East Coast Guard, and the chief of the National Guard Bureau.
“The panel was set up under a provision of the Fiscal Year 2008 National Defense Authorization Act, the White House said.”
There was no timestamp on the latest Emergency Order from Whitehouse.gov, which readers can see below.
The Obama administration seems to be conducting the business of America under cover of the dark.

Look in any textbook or encyclopedia and compare US policy (not rhetoric) to the definitions of fascism and constitutional republic. I’ll explain it here, but check my work. If at the end of your consideration, you agree that the United States of America is now a fascist state, please speak-up about it. Also, consider the policy requests at the end of the article.
Please read this article like a prima facie legal argument; that means unless you can refute the facts, they stand as our best understanding of the issue. Here, if you can’t refute the evidence that the US is now a fascist state, then accept this as your best understanding. As time passes, if evidence is brought forward to further the case for fascism or refute it, your comprehensive understanding improves.

PTSD - Post Traumatic Sovereign Disorder
By Reid Baer
It was in the fall and I was mowing the lawn
wearing shorts and an old t-shirt when I stepped in
to a hive of aggressive ground nesting insects
that appeared to be bees – but most certainly were
by their colored coats the extremely unpleasant
Yellowjackets. I danced in pure fear - excitement –
frenzy even screaming as the swarm attacked my
bare black legs stinging and stinging incessantly
I darted to and fro swiping at them as would
a typical child react to wasp-like flying
Things inflicting so much sudden pain before a
thought to fight or flight sinks in just please the big crowd
that’s how I grew up performing with a big smile
all the while inside perspiring profusely
promising I would never be a bad man – no -
No matter what life would bring - but I lie under
my thoughts because you see it was how I was taught.
Even now, I have a multitude of stingers
nesting ready to harass on my command as
I am - an abdicating young man and Tyrant King.
