Zionist Israeli Thugs are beating up and using tasers on members of the Orthodox Jewish Faith Neturei Karta. ------- ---------------- ------------------------ ----Anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews protesting the desecration of graves by a highway construction project near Haifa were attacked and brutally beaten by private security guards hired by the Ministry of Transportation. The group, known for being outspokenly critical of the State of Israel and its very existence were peacefully demonstrating at the time. This attack follows a long history of violence against the Orthodox Jewish community. Consistent with fundamental Jewish beliefs, some of these protesters often take part in demonstrations, side by side with Palestinians, against the State of Israel and its inhuman policies toward the Palestinian people." The apparent strategy of using organized violence through private security personnel against these peaceful protesters is only one of many tactics used by the State of Israel to intimidate and discourage further protests. The police were nowhere to be found at the time or even hours after the melee. Several Rabbis and children were attacked with electric stun gun devices and knives, requiring some to be hospitalized. Among the injured were Rabbi Leibl Deutsch and Rabbi Yisroel Rothchild, both of Jerusalem who were stabbed in the lower back and leg respectively. Interview with Riad al Turk, Syria's most prominent opposition figure

On Friday, July 29, 2011, journalist Mohamad Ali al Atassi interviewed Riad al Turk, whose story was published in Dar al Hayat, (meaning House of Life in Arabic) and subsequently translated to French by Sham Al Mallah of the Babelmed website. Al Turk has been referred to as the 'Mandela of Syria', and yet, nothing in the Western Press has been written about him or his views on the Syrian uprising, nor about his 17-year sentence behind bars. While revolution in Syria appears to be quite real, it must be bittersweet for al Turk, as he had fought long and hard for citizens' rights. It took al Atassi quite a bit of digging around to locate al Turk, as he hints in his prologue that the man was literally 'underground'. To gain a better understanding of what is going on in Syria, al Turk's remarks to al Atassi's questions have been translated to English.

Al- Atassi: In your January 17, 2000 interview which was published in "Al Hayat" a few months before President Hafez al-Assad’s death, which was your first interview after your release, you said: ‘Silence is the only thing left for Syrian society to express its existence and its refusal of the status quo. Thus, silence is taken here as a position, but it cannot last indefinitely, and society must, with its vital force, produce new forms of expression under the register of declarations, public statements and actions’ . Now, four months after the start of the protests in Syria, many activists blame you for your silence. What is the reason for your silence to the media? Should we be seeingit as a position?

Al-Turk: My silence is largely due to my desire to see people exercising their rights. Now the street has spoken. The young revolutionaries have spoken. Those who have created the events have spoken. It is now the people who have emerged from their silence today, and undermined the walls of the kingdom of silence. Of course, what I am saying here does not mean that we, politicians, have to be silent and shirk our duty to support the Syrian revolution.

Opposition says it leads Kyrgyzstan after uprising

Opposition leaders declared they had seized power in Kyrgyzstan, taking control of security headquarters, a state TV channel and other government buildings after clashes between police and protesters killed dozens in this Central Asian nation that houses a key U.S. air base.

President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who came to power in a similar popular uprising five years ago, was said to have fled to the southern city of Osh, and it was difficult to gauge how much of the impoverished, mountainous country the opposition controlled Wednesday.

"The security service and the Interior Ministry ... all of them are already under the management of new people," Rosa Otunbayeva, a former foreign minister who the opposition leaders said would head the interim government, told the Russian-language Mir TV channel.

The opposition has called for the closure of the U.S. air base in Manas outside the capital of Bishkek that is a key transit point for supplies essential to the war in nearby Afghanistan.

A senior U.S. military official said Kyrgyzstan officials halted flights for 12 hours on Wednesday at Manas air base. The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said the base closed around 8 p.m. local time and was expected to reopen around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Other military officials said the suspension was not expected to impact military operations because fewer flights were scheduled during overnight hours.

During the day, protesters who were called into the streets by opposition parties stormed government buildings in Bishkek and battled with police amid volleys of tear gas. Groups of elite officers then fired with live ammunition.

The Health Ministry said 40 people died and more than 400 were wounded. Opposition activist Toktoim Umetaliyeva said at least 100 people were killed by police gunfire.

Crowds of demonstrators took control of the state TV building and looted it, then marched toward the Interior Ministry, according to Associated Press reporters on the scene, before changing direction and attacking a national security building nearby. They were repelled by security forces loyal to Bakiyev.

After nightfall, the opposition and its supporters appeared to gain the upper hand. An AP reporter saw opposition leader Keneshbek Duishebayev sitting in the office of the chief of the National Security Agency, Kyrgyzstan's successor to the Soviet KGB. Duishebayev issued orders on the phone to people he said were security agents, and he also gave orders to a uniformed special forces commando.
