** NUMBER 1 ON UK CLUB CHART**
In today’s current music scene, it is rare to find an artist who not only has the ability to write unique and forward-thinking songs, but who also has a voice that seems to fuse with the track with effortless ease... unless your name is Nastala.
Growing up in the electronic capital of Detroit, Nastala began writing and singing from an early age and eventually captured the attention of electro house big gun, Chris Lake. Once in the studio the pair soon became a winning formula, achieving chart-topping global success with tracks Only One and If You Knew. Nastala’s sexy, funked-up vocals soon became heavily in demand, opening many doors in the industry as a singer/songwriter, including being asked to write for massive dance legends Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. Nastala's early success at the heights of the dance music community gave her a fantastic foundation to move forward and guided her towards working with acclaimed songwriters Biff Stannard (Kylie Minogue / The Spice Girls) and Jonas Quant.
Now unleashing her debut single, Crazy is everything you could wish for in a bona fide electro-pop anthem. 'Crazy' was produced by Chris Lake and mixed by respected engineer Ash Howes (who has previously worked with Little Boots and Dido), with additional production from good friend Deadmau5 on drums and guitar.
Nastala’s catchy bittersweet vocals drape perfectly over the synth-tinged riff and dirty bass.
Accompanied with a whole host of remixes and edits coming from some of the hottest talent in dance, watch Nastala become a name on everyone’s lips this Spring.

YES PLEASE! Remix capabilities on your iPhone!
The Grammy-nominated dance music producer Deadmau5 have teamed up with an Irish development company called Future Audio Workshop, to bring you what could be one of the most forward-thinking iPhone apps ever to grace the digital world.
Apparently the application lets you "mix and remix every song on the album," regardless of technical ability, and is something they're looking to use on future applications with various albums. You can switch up the BPM, control up to four channels simultaneously, loop tracks and even use the built in crossfader to switch between tracks and pretend you're the next superstar DJ.
I shall be purchasing this as soon as I get home, hopefully it's as good as my 1210s...YES PLEASE! Remix capabilities on your iPhone!

And the nominations are out for International Dance Music Awards, with artists being nominated across 51 categories. Yes, that's 51 categories!
It seems that there's gonna be more competition than normal this year with the International DJ nominations list reading like a serious-who's who of electronic dance music. Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Deadmau5, ATB, Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox and Above & Beyond are all pitted against each other... just a shame there's not really any variation in the genres.
The winners will be announced at this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami. And the nominations are out for International Dance Music Awards, with artists being... more

After winning his first Juno Award eight months ago, Niagara Falls electro whiz Joel Zimmerman finally found time to soak it all in last week.
He was relaxing in Mexico when his cellphone rang. It hasn't stopped ringing all year.
Somewhat agitated, he answered. It was his manager.
"He said, 'Dude, you were just nominated for a Grammy.' What?
"It has just been this really steep climb in a very short period of time. As a person, I'm not really sure how to deal
with that, but the less thought I put into it the more things get done."
So while he's working, we'll sum it up: It has been a breakthrough year for the 27-year-old Zimmerman, better known by his DJ moniker Deadmau5 (pronounced Dead Mouse). After picking up two Juno nominations last winter, he won Dance Recording of the Year for "All U Ever Want," a collaboration with singer Billy Newton- Davis.
It ushered in a typically busy summer, playing gigs throughout Europe. In August, he DJ'd an after-show party for Motley Crue. His full-length debut disc, "Random Album Title" came out in November.
His schedule hasn't let up. In the next two weeks alone, he's off to London, then Vienna, then Rome, back to London, off to Iceland and finally home for Christmas.
The Grammy Awards were hardly on his radar, but then came last week's nominations. In the Best Remixed Recording Non-Classical category, Zimmerman is up for his Deadmau5 remix of "The Longest Road," with Morgan Page featuring Lissie.
As with the Juno Awards, Zimmerman is mystified by the choice, but he'll take it.
"That's another weird one," he says with a laugh while driving on the Gardiner Expressway en route to the Toronto airport.
"I don't know what's up with these award committees ... again, I don't feel it's my best work, but God bless Lissie. She's an amazing singer.
"After the original (version) done with Morgan Page, they came to me after and said, 'Would you like to redo it?' Fortunately (for me), the remix kind of blew away the original. I'm very happy for Morgan -it's more his award than mine."
The magnitude of it all hit Zimmerman when he saw the remixers he was up against: StoneBridge for Ne-Yo's "Closer," Justice for MGMT's "Electric Feel," Junkie XL for Madonna's "4 Minutes," and Moto Blanco for Mary J. Blige's "Just Fine."
"I'm up there with the other heavyweights of electronic music," he says. "It's very flattering. I'm more than honoured just to be nominated."
He cancelled a show in England to attend the Feb. 8 show in Los Angeles "and go there with the little name tag that says 'Nominee.' I'm more than happy. It's really cool to represent Canada."
As a kid growing up in Niagara Falls, Zimmerman was fascinated with taking gadgets apart and putting them back together -much like he does with music now. Since moving to Toronto, he has been one of Canada's most in-demand dance/electronic producers and DJs.
His ascent has taken just three years. Now he wonders how to keep it up.
