Wisconsin Right to Life, which bills itself as Wisconsin's "largest and most effective pro-life organization," has been caught offering gift cards in exchange for "pro-life" absentee ballot applications.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has obtained an email dated July 1st of this year that warns readers that the "pro-family" Wisconsin Senate is being put at risk by upcoming recall elections, and then offers...
"rewards for volunteers who make an impact over the weekend by educating and encouraging family and friends to vote by absentee ballot," including:
A "$25 gift card or gas card reward for any volunteer who can get at least 15 pro-life/pro-family voters (and family and friends) to complete an absentee ballot application" by July 5.
A "$75 gift card or gas card reward for the volunteer in each Senate district who gets the most absentee ballot applications completed" by July 5.

A pro-life group in Atlanta, GA, put up 80 billboards around the city that featured a black child's face with tears in his eyes next to the words "BLACK CHILDREN ARE AN ENDANGERED SPECIES."
Their message? Abortion clinics in America are part of a conspiracy of black genocide. We traveled to Atlanta and spoke with advocates and politicians on both sides of the controversy, on camera.A pro-life group in Atlanta, GA, put up 80 billboards around the city that featured a... more

On Nov. 1, a law in Oklahoma will go into effect that will collect personal details about every single abortion performed in the state and post them on a public website. Implementing the measure will “cost $281,285 the first year and $256,285 each subsequent year.” Here are the first eight questions that women will have to reveal:
1. Date of abortion
2. County in which abortion performed
3. Age of mother
4. Marital status of mother
(married, divorced, separated, widowed, or never married)
5. Race of mother
6. Years of education of mother
(specify highest year completed)
7. State or foreign country of residence of mother
8. Total number of previous pregnancies of the mother
Live Births
Miscarriages
Induced Abortions
Although the questionnaire does not ask for name, address, or “any information specifically identifying the patient,” as Feminists for Choice points out, these eight questions could easily be used to identify a woman in a small community. “They’re really just trying to frighten women out of having abortions,” Keri Parks, director of external affairs at Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma, said. The Center for Reproductive Rights is challenging the law, arguing that “it violates the Oklahoma Constitution because it ‘covers more than one subject’ — a challenge that previously worked to strike down an abortion ultrasound law.On Nov. 1, a law in Oklahoma will go into effect that will collect personal details... more

I’ve been surfing on net for the blogs and forums on vegetarianism. I was very disappointed to see that many people consider animals to be actually created for our consumption…
When John Locke theoretized natural rights entitled to men, he meant white, European, male persons with property. Avarage life expectancy of a slave was five years, and women were -as now the animals are- treated as mere commodities. The idea that women, the elderly, the disabled and the people of color also have right to life was a revolution and a major shift in conceptualization of the universe.
Animals also have rights to life, quality life in their natural settings. However, the imagination of the man and his environment is so rigid and asserts itself so many areas of life that we can not understand that animals are not made of meat, but we turn them into Adana Kebabs. We ignore the fact that serious harm is inflicted on innocent creatures for motives such as appatite, taste or convenience. Although the facts reveal that vegetarians tend to live much longer than meat eaters, we hide behind the ambush of pseudo science. We stop driving cars in order to reduce GHG emissions, but eat beef at lunch the processing of which cause more emission. Every child cries when “their” lamb is sacrificed, but we teach them to enjoy its roast. Contradictions can be numbered… all in all we are shaped by intrinsicly “masculin” motives to capture, harm, dominate, kill and possess.

Irena Salina's award-winning documentary investigation into what experts label the most important political and environmental issue of the 21st Century - The World Water Crisis.
Salina builds a case against the growing privatization of the world's dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel.
Interviews with scientists and activists intelligently reveal the rapidly building crisis, at both the global and human scale, and the film introduces many of the governmental and corporate culprits behind the water grab, while begging the question "CAN ANYONE REALLY OWN WATER?"
Beyond identifying the problem, FLOW also gives viewers a look at the people and institutions providing practical solutions to the water crisis and those developing new technologies, which are fast becoming blueprints for a successful global and economic turnaround.
