The FA has confirmed that Fabio Capello will continue as England's manager and take the team into Euro 2012.
The decision follows a week of speculation that Capello would take the blame for England's dismal World Cup performance and be forced out of his contract early.
According to a statement by the FA: "The Club England Board considered all aspects of England's performance and operations at the FIFA World Cup, and it was unanimously agreed that Fabio is the best man to continue leading the England team."
After England were ejected from the tournament following a 4-1 loss to Germany, Capello had indicated that he wanted to stay on until his contract finishes in 2012. The FA responded with their cards held close to their chest, saying they'd talk things over and form a rational decision within two weeks.
Club England Chairman Sir Dave Richards told press today: "He went into the World Cup with a reputation as one of World football's finest managers and we are confident Fabio will benefit from his first international tournament experience and this will undoubtedly make us all stronger for the Euro 2012 campaign."

Good news, football fans! FIFA's president Sepp Blatter has apologised to the Football Association over Frank Lampard's disallowed goal that led to Germany beating England 4-1.
He also suggested he'd now be willing to look into what technological options are available to ensure this sort of thing can be avoided in the future.
Blatter told a media briefing in Johannesburg today: "It is obvious that after the experience so far in this World Cup it would be a nonsense to not reopen the file of technology at the business meeting of the International FA Board in July.
"Personally I deplore it when you see evident referee mistakes but it's not the end of a competition or the end of football, this can happen.
"The only thing I can do is yesterday I have spoken to the two federations [England and Mexico] directly concerned by referees mistakes. I have expressed to them apologies and I understand they are not happy and that people are criticising.
"We will naturally take on board the discussion on technology and have first opportunity in July at the business meeting."
Though his apology won't stop the tabloids howling for Capello's sacking or give us 23 players who can actually live up the hype, it's a step in the right direction.

January is cold, bitter and gnerally an anti climax with the begining of a new year. The only exception is the opening of the Premier League transfer window.
Newly minted Manchester City look set to splash the cash with an unreasonable amount of money, players such as Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz and Kaka (yes all in the same sentence) have already been linked.
Kolo Toure has allegedly handed in a transfer request after a big bust up with defensive partner William Gallas.
Jermain Defoe is apparently eager to match up with Harry Redknapp at Spurs again.

Sven-Göran Eriksson had plans to integrate as many as four foreign-born players in his England side according to David Davies, the former executive director of the Football Association.
Davies, in a Daily Mail serialisation of his book FA Confidential, claimed that Eriksson reacted to the 2004 exit from the European Championships by suggesting a list of Premier League imports who were uncapped by their countries and could legally be brought into the England side due to FIFA's residence rules.
The four names suggested by the Swede were Chelsea's Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, Brazilian midfielder Edu, then of Arsenal, and French pair Steed Malbranque and Louis Saha, who played for Fulham and Manchester United respectively.
None of the four ever went on to play for England, with Edu and Saha subsequently capped by their own nations.Sven-Göran Eriksson had plans to integrate as many as four foreign-born players... more

Fifa has fined the Croatian Football Federation £15,000 for the racist behaviour of their fans during the match with England on 10 September.
Monkey chants were heard from a section of the Maksimir Stadium when England striker Emile Heskey was booked.
The FA made an official complaint after the game and Heskey later called the fans "ignorant people" and claimed he ignored them.
"You have to let the people above deal with that and I will carry on playing my game," added the England forward.
The FIFA statement said: "Racism has no place in football.
"Fifa is determined to continue broadcasting this message around the globe and deploying all of the means at its disposal to eliminate this form of discrimination."

I don't know if this is cos of how bad England are playing at the moment, but Football Association chief executive Brian Barwick has announced he's quitting at the end of the year.
"Barwick, who previously worked for both the BBC and ITV, was appointed the FA's chief executive in November 2004."
I think he should have gone when McClaren got the boot as well really. I don't know if this is cos of how bad England are playing at the moment, but... more
