In no way, shape, or form are we saying that this is the only way it will work. This is just one way that we believe will help turn the Raiders around and put then back on top of the NFL world.....In part one of our Rebuilding the shield series, I explained the beginning of the... more

It's true about this year being a 'down' year for the Pac-10. The MWC and the WAC teams have shown that they can compete and win in the Pac-10 this season, which for an elite conference is not good news. With that reality, teams from other lesser-conferences would still be hard-pressed to make a case against either of the two teams playing in the Pac-10 marquee matchup this weekend....It's true about this year being a 'down' year for the Pac-10. The MWC... more

The first half theme has been the ineptitude of UCLA's offense or the magnificent Cal defense, depending on who you're talking to. You could also say that it's a combination of both. If you believe in preseason polls, which I do not, then the Arizona State Sun Devils should have no trouble beating Cal on Saturday. The only problem with that premise is that sports have and always will be a 'what have you done for me lately' affair when it comes to prognostications. Take my word for it....If you believe in preseason polls, which I do not, then the Arizona State Sun Devils... more

When a team is bad, it's easy to throw caution to the wind and make adjustments where necessary. Are the Bears a bad team? A 3-1 record might tell you that they are a pretty good team, but they haven't been as consistent as their record might lead you to believe...When a team is bad, it's easy to throw caution to the wind and make adjustments... more

The last time so many young players on the Cal football team were getting opportunities to play was probably in coach Jeff Tedford's second season (2003) where he rotated between Aaron Rodgers and Reggie Robertson at the quarterback spot. Even then, it's probable that the 2003 team was still a little older. Their quarterbacks were definitely not Sophomores....The last time so many young players on the Cal football team were getting... more
