Action movies are always full of clichés. You know, there’s always the part where the villain thinks that his henchmen have finally killed off that pesky hero that’s been such a thorn in his side since the very first scene and then, just when his evil scheme starts to come together, the damn hero shows up, very much still alive, and saves the day. And like all those action hero clichés that he’s based on, Duke Nukem also has a bad habit of showing up again long after you think he’s finally been laid to rest.
On the last day, they gathered for a group photo. They were videogame programmers, artists, level builders, artificial-intelligence experts. Their team was — finally — giving up, declaring defeat, and disbanding. So they headed down to the lobby of their building in Garland, Texas, to smile for the camera. They arranged themselves on top of their logo: a 10-foot-wide nuclear-radiation sign, inlaid in the marble floor.
Thats right, one of the best FPS's of the 90's finally made its way onto the iPhone this morning and i bought it out of curiosity.
True to the orginial in every way the only thing i don't like is the tap shoot control, its difficult to get the hang of to say the least. Here's what Kotaku thought:
"Touchy, awkward controls aside, the game does everything else quite well. The graphics, the sound, the level design all remain faithful to the original. And Duke Nukem 3D certainly holds up to the test of time.
I have no doubt that at some point the developers will release a patch to smooth out controls, but until they do I can't recommend picking the title up, even at $3."
I disagree, but then i loved the orginal.Thats right, one of the best FPS's of the 90's finally made its way onto the... more
Snack Or Die is at it again with some tasty looking chocolate cupcakes with hints of orange.
"With 3D Realms recently going under and the recent lawsuit by Take-Two against 3DR for not coming up with a game, I have a solution for this unhappy situation in the game development world. That solution is: cupcakes! Okay, it's only a temporary solution, but cupcakes make everyone happy, and the more happiness the better I say."Snack Or Die is at it again with some tasty looking chocolate cupcakes with hints of... more

If you're still hanging on the development status of Duke Nukem Forever, developers 3D Realms claim the game is still being worked on.
The disclosure can be found within court documents relating to the franchise, and specifically reads "[3D Realms/Apogee Ltd.] admits that it has continually worked on the development of the DNF for many years, and continues to do so".
In addition to this reveal, it seems publisher Take-Two began development of another Duke Nukem game, Duke Begins, in 2007. This title, however, was canned in April 2009, right around the time the publisher's support of Duke Nukem Forever dried up, leading to speculation that "Duke Begins" was as much a bargaining chip in negotiations with 3D Realms as it was a legitimate product. If you're still hanging on the development status of Duke Nukem Forever,... more

Seriously? Let it die, guys. We all loved Duke Nukem, especially those of us who were about 13 when the original hit. But now I don't even think there's a market for this thing. Plus the remaining fans are so jaded about the whole debacle that I don't think it's even worth it.It's probably the greatest case of vaporware of all time. Kotaku is reporting... more

In what has been the most eventful week 3D Realms has experienced in years, it seems another ex-developer has released more information regarding Duke Nukem: Forever. Caution: there is fully animated nudity in the video.
There has yet to be any confirmation saying if this is, in fact actual footage from the game. It does look convincing, as many of the monsters are identical to what was displayed in the leaked artwork earlier this week.In what has been the most eventful week 3D Realms has experienced in years, it seems... more
