Gordon Brown, who let's face it needs all the votes he can get right now, may have lost a fair few yesterday after describing an elderly, widowed Labour voter, who's even look after disabled kids in her time (!), as "bigoted" to an aide, unaware his words were being picked up by a microphone that was accidentally still attached to his shirt.
After telling the woman "It has been very good to meet you - and you are wearing the right colour today. How are your grandchildren? A good family. Good see you," Brown climbed into his car and reportedly said the following:
"You should never have put me with that woman. Who's idea was that? Sue's I think. Everything she said - she's just a bigoted woman."
Updates:
Channel 4 think Brown's comment was in response to her saying "You can't say anything about these immigrants - all these Eastern Europeans were flocking in."
The Lib Dem press office responded on Twitter and advised Brown: "Say she had a small livestock holding and was a be-goated woman".
@bigotedwoman has already been set up on Twitter. Hat tip for speed to the person behind it.
Radio 2 plays Brown a recording of his 'bigoted woman' comments. His reaction, caught on camera, is utterly brilliant. Here's an audio recording of Jeremy Vine playing it to Brown. Video here.

What could've been the context of this statement?
Ernie Anastos: "Keep fucking that chicken"
It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast Nick
I guess that's me.
Keep fucking that chicken.
This reminds me of a film I once saw...
In Anchor Man the culprit was Christina Applegate. I think she's set precedence and is also responsible for this gaffe. FCC send your fines to Christina Applegate, it was she who changed the teleprompter. Maybe.

Our Vice President loves to speak his mind. And overwhelmed with the significance of passing health care reform, he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to tell the President exactly what he thought about the momentous occasion: "It's a big fucking deal." Here's the video.
I love this moment because it seems so Biden. He tells Obama it's a big deal and that doesn't seem to get through, so he re-emphasizes with an f-bomb. Of course, we at Current have long known how footloose and fancyfree the Vice President can be with his boss. We've been following their relationship through the hard-hitting documentary series with the best access in the free world: "Supernews". Check out the job fair the two of them hosted, for example, in which the Vice President dressed as a clown and made fun of Canadians!
Luckily for Mr. Biden, everyone seems to adore his antics. We certainly do, and it would seem that even the White House Press Secretary is on board. He responded to Biden's newest gaffe/ROFLMAO with this on Twitter:
Our Vice President loves to speak his mind. And overwhelmed with the significance of... more

Okay, truth be told I didn't know that Zapatero was the prime minister of Spain till today. But I did expect a presidential candidate - particularly one who frequently touts his foreign policy experience - to know this. This is a little detail McCain should have brushed up on before conducting an interview with the Spanish-speaking press...Okay, truth be told I didn't know that Zapatero was the prime minister of Spain... more
