If you're a foodie, you might be tempted to seek out a sample of the culinary French delicacy foie gras. Literally translated, "foie gras" means "fatty liver," an unhealthy condition that's inflicted on them by the producers of this expensive product.
What those producers won't tell you is that ducks and geese must undergo cruel treatment and torturous force-feeding in order to create this delicacy for restaurants and chefs.
Former James Bond star Roger Moore has created the sad video above with the help of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, to show the public how birds are force-fed through long tubes to fatten their livers, a procedure that gives the birds a liver disease similar to cirrhosis in humans. If you're a foodie, you might be tempted to seek out a sample of the culinary... more

After 60 years in the make-believe world of acting, Roger Moore admits to telling the occasional fib or little white lie now and again.
Not that that should prevent anyone from reading his memoir, "My Word is My Bond," which is full of stories -- tall or otherwise -- about his life on stage, TV and in the movies.
"You want to know when I'm not lying?" he asked impishly in a recent interview before answering his own question with a knowing smile: "My mouth is not moving! After 60 years in the make-believe world of acting, Roger Moore admits to telling the... more

Movie audiences nowadays expect scenes of graphic violence in James Bond movies, unlike when Roger Moore played the super spy with a tongue-in-cheek humor, the actor believes.
"I am happy to have done it, but I'm sad that it has turned so violent," Moore said before "Quantum of Solace," starring Daniel Craig as a darker Agent 007, opens in North America on Friday.
"That's keeping up with the times, it's what cinema-goers seem to want and it's proved by the box-office figures," Moore told Reuters in an interview about his memoir, "My Word is My Bond."
The new Bond film opened in London on Oct 31, breaking the British weekend box-office record with a gross of $25 million. It has taken in more than $106 million worldwide so far.Movie audiences nowadays expect scenes of graphic violence in James Bond movies,... more

He hasn't played James Bond for 23 years, but the release of Sir Roger Moore's new autobiography has been perfectly timed to compliment the world premiere of the latest 007 spectacular 'The Quantum Solace'.
Moore, who still retains all his old charm at the age of 81, spoke to 'BILD am Sonntag' while promoting the new Blu-Ray DVD collection of old Bond films. His ten-year stint as the iconic secret service agent makes him one of the best men for the job!
It also gave rise to the name of his new book - 'My World is My Bond' - but he may be facing competition for affection among fans of the films, with the British 'Times' newspaper lavishing praise on his latest successor: "Superb action! Daniel Craig is well on the way to becoming the most loved Bond of all time!” Sorry, Sir Roger.
BILD am Sonntag: What is the best thing about being James Bond? The women, the cars or the drinks?
Roger Moore: The money! The cars I had weren’t actually so great. And when you are filming you don’t get anything proper to drink, only coloured water or Coca Cola. And I never really liked Vodka Martinis. I usually drank tea. And the women – no, I always had my own…
BamS: How many Bond girls did you have affairs with?
Sir Roger, at 81 the perfect gentleman, falls silent. He smiles. Silence speaks volumes…next attempt.
BamS: Who was your favourite Bond girl? There was recently a reunion of past 007 beauties…
Roger Moore: That was wonderful, even though I didn’t actually know a few of the ladies because they had appeared alongside Sean Connery. My favourite Bond girl was Madeleine Smith, who played Miss Caruso [in 'Live and Let Die']. She is fabulous.
BamS: Are you in contact with the other Bond actors?
Roger Moore: Not with all of them. But I often speak to Sean Connery, we are good friends.
