Essentially Maggwire is a site where you can go to read articles from a variety of famous magazines (mostly US but nonetheless interesting) and rate your favourites. The most popular rise to the top and, if the wisdom of crowds theory is to be believed, also showcase the 'best' articles.
From a scan of the headlines, the stories on there don't seem to be any better than the ones most aggregators or RSS feeds surface, this could be a pretty interesting option for struggling magazines to find a new home on the web.

Today, EpaperCentral.com (www.epapercentral.com) announced it is now available to the public. EpaperCentral.com is a hub for news, analysis, information and discussion on all things relating to electronic paper. The site is also dedicated exclusively to delivering the newest, most up-to-date information about electronic paper's nearly endless applications ranging from next generation newspapers, textbooks, signage and mobile devices, to more obscure applications such as windshield navigational displays.
E-paper stands to be a true revolution due to its impressive capabilities, many of which have previously been unavailable in other display technologies. For example, electronic paper can be viewed easily from any angle. Like traditional paper, e-paper can be read in direct sunlight and has high contrast. E-paper only consumes energy when the display is updated, making electronic paper more energy efficient and thus greatly extending e-paper's battery life beyond that of other types of displays.
The next two years will mark an impressive period of growth for the e-paper industry, which is projected by NanoMarkets to become a $2 billion dollar business by 2012 and a $4 billion dollar business by 2014. The economic and environmental impacts of E-paper are destined to make this technology a major player in mass media and advertising in the immediate future. Electronic paper, when used instead of the traditional means of print, saves both paper and distribution costs. Further, when compared with traditional display technologies, substantially less energy is used. E-paper is an environmentally-friendly technology that stands to reduce pollution, potentially on a global scale.
EpaperCentral.com is a hub for all information regarding the implementation of electronic paper in the consumer market and the world at large. EpaperCentral.com covers news and developments in the world of e-paper, and has reviews of the newest and most exciting e-paper products. Additional EpaperCentral.com highlights include editorial content from industry professionals with diverse backgrounds in publishing, printing and electronics. Further, the site has extensive forums for discussion on e-paper technologies, new devices, manufacturers and investment opportunities.Today, EpaperCentral.com (www.epapercentral.com) announced it is now available to the... more

It’s early in the morning. You’re stumbling through your home half awake, half-shaven, half dressed, late for work. There’s a stack of documents on the kitchen counter you have to tote to the office along with a lunch pail, change of clothes, a few books, notebooks and, depending on the day, a small and nearly helpless child. What’s a person to do?It’s early in the morning. You’re stumbling through your home half awake,... more

Here’s a Green crime we’re all guilty of but most can do very little about. You’ve sent a document to the printer and as that last sheet is birthed from the machine, you notice something. By all reasonable accounts the page is blank. Why did it print? Upon closer inspection you find a tiny URL, stray mark, random page number or Missy in Accounting’s home phone number. So that’s where you put it! After jotting Missy’s number down elsewhere you decide this practically-blank-but-not-quite-blank sheet of paper is useless. To the trash bin with it!
You just wasted precious office ink. And while this one sheet may not have killed a whole pine to come into being it certainly cost some poor conifer a branch or two. Well, Hayden Hamilton has devised a tool to eliminate this problem. It’s called GreenPrint, software that analyzes what a computer sends to a printer, eliminates waste and saves ink. Here’s a Green crime we’re all guilty of but most can do very little... more

A cover model for Genre Magazine is suing the magazine that allegedly printed a series of provocative photos intended for his personal use without his permission.
After the magazine had gone on sale, Benjamin Massing, 20, says he was subjected to unwanted advances and harassment from gay men and decided to sue the magazine and the photographer for invasion of privacy.
Massing, who is straight, is majoring in molecular biology at the University of Southern Florida. Lawyers for student say the photo spread, which flanked advertisements for sex toys and lubricant, has made it difficult for Massing to book jobs.
The suit alleges Massing has been subjected to sexual solicitations from strangers and the model claims he’s suffered humiliation and damage to his career as a result of the photo spread.
Massing has previously appeared almost in the buff for an Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue. The model also sported a pinstriped suit for an issue of Playboy spotlighting eligible college men.
