"The Italian designer and billionaire Giorgio Armani celebrated Fashion Week on Tuesday with the announcement of a $1 million donation to promote arts programs in New York City public schools.
The money will be used to create the Armani Arts Institute, an umbrella program that will fund arts initiatives in schools serving some of the city’s most disadvantaged populations.
The donation will go to the 'Fund for Public Schools,' a nonprofit corporation that collects private money to support the school system. It has raised more than $240 million since 2003.
Caroline Kennedy, vice chairwoman of the fund, attended the news conference and called Mr. Armani “an example to all of us that even in difficult times we must continue to look at the future for hope and inspiration and let our children know that we are determined to help them build a better world.”"The Italian designer and billionaire Giorgio Armani celebrated Fashion Week on... more

Brian Reyes collaborated with shoe designer Manolo Blanik for his show this year at Fashion Week. Apparently, the Manolos were not too comfortable.
From watching America's Next Top Model, we know that models sometimes have to wear really uncomfortable shoes - stuffing their size 10 feet in size 6 shoes. (What would we do without Tyra?!) These particular shoes must have been extremely uncomfortable because viewers of the show lost count of how many models took their shoes off mid runway. By the finale, all the models walked the runway barefoot.

February 14th will be a big day for a lot of people this year. Not only will it be a day of love for most, it is also the date of Alexander Wang's fashion show (for Fashion Week), and the debut of his limited-edition condom, Proper Attire, designed in collaboration with Planned Parenthood. These designer rubbers will be sold at Thompson Hotels and online with all profits going to Planned Parenthood.
Wondering if it is the packaging that is going to be fancy, or is it the actual condom that will be? If it is designer maybe you don't want to even use it, just blow it up and hang it on your wall or something?February 14th will be a big day for a lot of people this year.
