Nine years after they qualified in an international competition, the Republic of Ireland are joining England as they're through to the Euro 2012 competition.
On the night, Ireland drew 1-1 against Estonia, but Ireland had a 4-0 aggregate before the game, meaning they won 5-1 aggregate on the night. Meanwhile England won 1-0 against Sweden in a friendly, but it was also the 2,000th goal for the English team (thanks to Daniel Majstorovic of Chelsea) despite a low attendance at Wembley, both England and Sweden are already qualified.
Both England and Ireland will find out who they'll play against on December 2nd.

Fabio Capello says he'll fight to hang onto the job of England manager, despite his team losing 4-1 to Germany in their worst ever defeat at a World Cup.
At 1.30pm today, Capello held a press conference in which said he'd like to stay on, but will have to wait two weeks to find out if the FA shares the same sentiment.
"I spoke this morning with [the Club England chairman] Sir David Richards. He told me that he needs two weeks to decide. I said I can be for next season, the manager of England, but they have to decide," Capello told the gathered reporters.
Adrian Bevington, the managing director of Club England, was sat next to Capello at the press conference. He quickly cut in to insist the delay wasn't a sign of lack of faith in Capello.
"Capello is under contract until 2010 European Championships and nothing has changed in that respect. But it makes sense to go back to London and take stock of the situation and take a common sense decision rather than a knee jerk reaction after what is a disappointing result," Bevington added.
If Capello does go, Fulham manager Roy Hodgson and Spurs manager Harry Redknapp are both favourites to replace him.
Do you think Capello should go or be given another chance and be allowed to lead England into Euro 2012?

The former manager of Poland's national soccer team, Janusz Wójcik, has been arrested today on charges of corruption and buying matches. He is the 158th person charged in the corruption scandals that hit Poland in recent years. According to latest reports from the Polish media, Wójcik has been arrested for 3 months by the district court in Warsaw.
The arrest comes just weeks after an attempt by the Polish government to take over control of the football association. The government withdrew from such plans, after UEFA and FIFA threatened to throw out Poland from the nearest World Cup, as well as to move the Euro Cup 2012 Finals from Poland to a different European country. The former manager of Poland's national soccer team, Janusz Wójcik, has... more

UEFA, the governing body of European football, said they were likely to withdraw Poland's right to host Euro 2012 if the country didn't reinstate their football association this morning.
A Polish arbitration tribubal suspended the PZPN (the equivalent to the Football Association) and named an administrator last week after the country's Sports Minister filed a motion saying it had broken the law a number of times.
"They (Polish government) have to realise they are playing with Euro 2012. How can we trust a government to host the tournament .... if they fail to meet the deadline then it is likely we cannot go on," a UEFA spokesman said.
FIFA, whose rules forbid government interference, said Warsaw must reinstate the FA or risk being suspended from this month's two World Cup qualifying matches.
Update: According to FA bigwig Sepp Blatter the Polish Football Association has settled a dispute with its government that threatened its right to co-host Euro 2012.UEFA, the governing body of European football, said they were likely to withdraw... more
