“Machine Civilization” is the fabulously choreographed music video by World Order, the celebrated Japanese music/dance performance group led by former martial artist Genki Sudo. The video features slow-motion breakdance voguing Japanese businessmen, released along with some words of hope following the recent earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan. Genki Sudo accompanied his video with these words of hope:
“The unprecedented disasters unfolding in Japan; earthquakes, tsunami, and nuclear explosions, will somehow change things to come. And to send my message about this, I have expressed it here with World Order. These disasters can be interpreted as a turning point for civilization. I think that we have arrived at a time of revolution, shared with all the people of the world, in today’s society, economy, and political systems.
Incidents themselves are neutral. I believe that every single one of us, wandering through this deep darkness, can overcome anything, if only we let go of our fear, and face the it all in a positive light. The world is not going to change. Each one of us will change. And if we do, then yes, the world will be changed. It is darkest right before the dawn. Let’s all rise up to welcome the morning that will be so very bright for mankind. We are all one.”
This piece includes a number of high-resolution color photographs, as well as the wonderfully choreographed music video.

Baha'is of India have established a National Baha'i Council Under the Provisions of the Covenant and proclaim that the line of King David continues in Baha'u'llah's great-great grandson.

BAHA'I COUNCIL CENTRE IN CITY
"FOUNDER DESCENDED FROM KING DAVID"
Age Correspondent
Mumbai
Oct. 14: Throwing the gauntlet at all other sects of the Baha'i faith in the country, the Baha'i Under the Provisions of the Covenant (BUPC) has formed the National Baha'i Council in India, with it's centre at Mumbai. The BUPC believes that Baha'u'llah, the founder of the Baha'i faith, was a descendant of King David. It also believes that the throne line did not end with the death of the first guardian Shoghi Effendi but is kept alive by the great-great -grandson of Baha'u'llah, Neal Chase Ben Joseph Aghsan.
According to BUPC members, the throne line of King David, which functions as the hereditary sign to recognize the true Universal House of Justice (UHJ) of Baha'u'llah, has been mistakenly construed to have ended in 1957. Citing Psalm 89, wherein God promises King David that his descendants would rule on his throne forever, the BUPC believes that this prophecy that was fulfilled by the coming of Baha'u'llah is still kept alive by Neal Chase and he is the rightful president of the UHJ.
The BUPC maintains that peace will be established when all of mankind recognizes this true spiritual government. Blaming Ruhiyyih Khanum, wife of Shoghi Effendi and the Hands for trying to reduce the importance of the UHJ, the BUPC maintains that the act was aimed at turning the faith into an oppressive organized religion, in stark contrast to the principles of the faith.Baha'is of India have established a National Baha'i Council Under the... more

While Sarah Palin is blamed by the US Secret Service for death threats against Barack Obama.
Fears grow for Barack Obama's security
When Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech behind a thick screen of bulletproof glass it was a sign of the huge security operation which will surround the new President Elect.
Fears are growing that Mr Obama, who will become America's first black president following his inauguration next year, will be the subject of an assassination attempt.
The secret service is reported to have already investigated more than 500 death threats against Mr Obama during the presidential election contest. Last month, two neo-Nazi skinheads were arrested for conspiring to assassinate Mr Obama.
He is expected to be protected by a secret service detail with hundreds of close-protection agents. Over the past few weeks, the US government has also begun secretly testing a new ultra-secure presidential limousine able to withstand most bomb blasts and terror attacks. Details of his movements will be a closely guarded secret for all but his most senior aides.
The scale of US presidential security is already on a different scale to that for British Prime Ministers with huge motorcades accompanying US presidents when they leave the White House.
Mr Obama received full secret service protection in May 2007, much earlier than most presidential candidates. His secret service codename is "renegade".
His wife, Michelle, is said to be particularly concerned about the threats that he now faces. However, Mr Obama previously said: "It's not something that I'm spending time thinking about day to day. I think anybody who decides to run for president recognises that there are some risks involved."

Al Gore, the vice president from 1993 to 2001, was the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. He founded the Alliance for Climate Protection and, as a businessman, invests in alternative energy companies.
....
Here's what we can do - now: we can make an immediate and large strategic investment to put people to work replacing 19th-century energy technologies that depend on dangerous and expensive carbon-based fuels with 21st-century technologies that use fuel that is free forever: the sun, the wind and the natural heat of the earth.
What follows is a five-part plan to repower America with a commitment to producing 100 percent of our electricity from carbon-free sources within 10 years. It is a plan that would simultaneously move us toward solutions to the climate crisis and the economic crisis - and create millions of new jobs that cannot be outsourced.
First, the new president and the new Congress should offer large-scale investment in incentives for the construction of concentrated solar thermal plants in the Southwestern deserts, wind farms in the corridor stretching from Texas to the Dakotas and advanced plants in geothermal hot spots that could produce large amounts of electricity.
Second, we should begin the planning and construction of a unified national smart grid for the transport of renewable electricity from the rural places where it is mostly generated to the cities where it is mostly used. New high-voltage, low-loss underground lines can be designed with "smart" features that provide consumers with sophisticated information and easy-to-use tools for conserving electricity, eliminating inefficiency and reducing their energy bills. The cost of this modern grid - $400 billion over 10 years - pales in comparison with the annual loss to American business of $120 billion due to the cascading failures that are endemic to our current balkanized and antiquated electricity lines.
Third, we should help America's automobile industry (not only the Big Three but the innovative new startup companies as well) to convert quickly to plug-in hybrids that can run on the renewable electricity that will be available as the rest of this plan matures. In combination with the unified grid, a nationwide fleet of plug-in hybrids would also help to solve the problem of electricity storage. Think about it: with this sort of grid, cars could be charged during off-peak energy-use hours; during peak hours, when fewer cars are on the road, they could contribute their electricity back into the national grid.
Fourth, we should embark on a nationwide effort to retrofit buildings with better insulation and energy-efficient windows and lighting. Approximately 40 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in the United States come from buildings - and stopping that pollution saves money for homeowners and businesses. This initiative should be coupled with the proposal in Congress to help Americans who are burdened by mortgages that exceed the value of their homes.
Fifth, the United States should lead the way by putting a price on carbon here at home, and by leading the world's efforts to replace the Kyoto treaty next year in Copenhagen with a more effective treaty that caps global carbon dioxide emissions and encourages nations to invest together in efficient ways to reduce global warming pollution quickly, including by sharply reducing deforestation.
Of course, the best way - indeed the only way - to secure a global agreement to safeguard our future is by re-establishing the United States as the country with the moral and political authority to lead the world toward a solution.
Looking ahead, I have great hope that we will have the courage to embrace the changes necessary to save our economy, our planet and ultimately ourselves.

Russia-U.S. relations
Dmitry Medvedev believes that when Barack Obama becomes U.S. President, the relations between the two countries will get a ‘second wind’.
“I underline it: we do not have a problem with the American people, we do not have an in-born anti-Americanism and we hope that our partners, the new U.S. administration, will choose fully-fledged relations with Russia,” he said.
He hopes progress in Russia-U.S. relations would be key to solving many international problems.
But President Medvedev also said that Russia will not allow the domination of a single country in any sphere.
“Together with all countries interested we will be creating a really democratic model of relations. The world cannot be ruled from one capital. Those who do not want to understand that will be only creating problems for themselves and for others,” Medvedev said.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev started his first State of the Nation Address with an assessment of the current year’s events. He said that in 2008 Russia underwent not only the renovation of the key power institutes after the presidential election, but also a very serious challenge.

South Ossetia & the global crisis
“A barbaric aggression against South Ossetia and the global financial crisis – two very different problems which nevertheless have common traits and a common origin, if it could be said so,” he said. “A local reckless enterprise provoked a rise of tensions far behind the region’s borders, in the whole of Europe, in the whole world. It called into question the efficiency of international security institutions and practically destabilised the basics of the world order.”
President Medvedev added that the global financial crisis also started as a local emergency situation in the U.S., but being closely linked with all developed countries, “the U.S. economy has pulled down other world markets. And this crisis has also become a global one.”
"The lessons of mistakes and crises of 2008 proved to all the responsible nations that it is the time to act, and it is necessary to radically reform the political and economic system," said Medvedev.
He believes Russia is ready to collaborate with the US, EU and BRIC countries to make this happen, and also to make the world a fairer and safer place.
"Our nation is rich, spiritually and morally. We have things to be proud of, we have things to love, to stand up for, to defend, to reach. That's why we will not retreat from the Caucasus," he said.
Russia’s actions during the August war in South Ossetia were not directed against Georgia or its citizens, but at saving the people of South Ossetia and Russian peacekeepers.
“It was also aimed at providing the lasting security of the South Ossetian and Abkhazian people, first of all from the recurrences of felonious adventurism and the current Georgian regime,” Medvedev said.

The future of the United States of America is just few more days away in probably the most critical election time in the history of United States when the US economy is in jeopardy, people losing their jobs, America's global status and reputation being questioned and world peace is at stake.
This election is not just about winning. Not about a party. Not about color. Not about selfish ambition. This is about what you want for America, you and the next generation's future and the future of the world. America is a very powerful nation with very powerful influence on vast aspects--a power that may land on the wrong hands.
