The cookie today is pronounced “Real-Politik.” The confection’ll have a many-layered, Middle Eastern flavor to it.
Palestine at this moment is nothing less than a political petry dish for “post-modern” colonialism. Israel it seems will never cease to try to expel Arabs from what it deems its “natural’ territorial sphere. Assimilation seems a dubious proposition at best. Arabs, for their part, probably will NEVER cease to resent and resist. The cookie today is pronounced “Real-Politik.” The confection’ll... more

As Gaza continues to thrive to a degree that exceeds many of its nieghbors, the question of why such focus on the suffering of gazans supercedes that of other people, is unavoidable. As aid missions, and convoys continue to create self serving, political, media campaigns, the citizens of Gaza are being used by them as fodder.
The people of Gaza are certainly being exploited, and that exploitation needs to stop.

Last month a story came to light that was truly odd.The story as it was told was that a jewish woman filed charges against a Palistinian man she had slept with, claiming it was rape because he lied to her about his backround.Saber Kushour, a Palastinian muslim was arrested, tried, and sentenced to 18 months of prison on the charge of rape by deception.

http://current.com/news/92558827_lies-before-sex-gets-man-prison-time.htm
(initial coverage of this story on current for easy reference)
As Saber Kushour appeals the decision, more information about this case has been brought forward. As it turns out the charge of rape by deception was issued as a plea, not a reach to persecute an innocent man.previous accounts presented the sex to be consentual despite it being a legitimate rape, while using the case as an example of how racist a society Israel is.At the end of the day, in fact Mr Kushour had not only been accused based on a legitimate charge, but wasnt punished to the fullest extent of Israeli law.The reality is a Palastinian man raped an Israeli woman and was locked away. Not beheaded,Not stoned,Not suffering any injustice. This case as it turns out is no different than it would have been had it happened here.Credibility of all parties was evaluated, a rape kit was done, and he admited having sex, that the rape kit concluded to be forced.
The irony is if it were not for Israel having a rape by deception law to use, Mr Kushour would have been worse off.
Lets see who follows up, and who selectively ignores reality in creating particular bias's.

The international movement of Women in Black began in January 1988, one month after the first Palestinian Intifada (uprising) broke out, as a small group of Israeli women carried out a simple form of protest: Once a week at the same hour and in the same location – a major traffic intersection – they donned black clothing and raised a black sign in the shape of a hand with white lettering that read “Stop the Occupation”. Within months, by word of mouth, women throughout Israel had heard of this protest, and launched dozens of vigils.
This began the 17-year history of the Women in Black movement, as it spread spontaneously from country to country, wherever women sought to speak out against violence and injustice in their own part of the world. In Italy, Women in Black protest a range of issues, from the Israeli occupation to the violence of organized crime. In Germany, Women in Black protest neo-Nazism, racism against guest workers, and nuclear arms. In India, Women in Black hold vigils that call for an end to the ill treatment of women by religious fundamentalists. And during the war in the Balkans, Women in Black in Belgrade set a profound example of interethnic cooperation that was an inspiration to their countrywomen and men.
Women in Black are often the target of attack by those who promote narrow nationalist views over reconciliation and peace. In both Israel and Serbia, where Women in Black have spoken out against the policies of their own political leadership, women in these vigils are frequently threatened and sometimes violently assaulted, accused of being traitors to their own country. Yet Women in Black have refused to step down from their courageous stand, preferring to serve as a continuous, public reminder that the oppression of others is an unacceptable option.
Although Women in Black took root in every continent of the world, cooperation among the disparate vigils was minimal until 2001, when e-mail lists originating in Europe, Asia, and North America began to network the groups. This was followed by two massive, joint actions – in June and December 2001 – demanding peace between Israel and Palestine. On both these days, tens of thousands of women in 150 cities across all five continents participated in solidarity actions. The December event in Jerusalem saw over 5,000 Israeli and Palestinian Women in Black and men marching together from the Israeli to the Palestinian sides of town under the twin banners, “The Occupation is Killing Us All” and “We Refuse to be Enemies”. Other Women in Black campaigns seek to focus world attention on the war in Colombia, and the need to bring peace to that region.
The movement of Women in Black has empowered women and men in many countries to mobilize for peace. It is an international movement, so that the voice of conscience in one region now echoes and reverberates throughout the world. And it provides a worldwide support system for victims of oppression, exposing their injustice to the light of day and the pressure of world opinion. The movement of Women in Black assumes many forms in many countries, but one thing is common to all: an uncompromising commitment to justice and a world free of violence. The international movement of Women in Black began in January 1988, one month after... more

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday the United States would present a Middle East peace plan within weeks and Israel should accept it.
"In the coming weeks, their plan will be formulated and presented to the parties," Barak said, according to a spokesman for Israel's parliament who briefed reporters on the defense chief's remarks to its Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
"I believe that Israel must take the lead in accepting the plan," Barak was quoted as saying.
Barak has held a series of meetings with U.S. President Barack Obama's Middle East envoy, George Mitchell, on Washington's demand for a Jewish settlement freeze that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been resisting.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has demanded a halt to settlement activity, as stipulated by a U.S.-backed 2003 peace "road map," before negotiations suspended since Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip last December can resume.
Israeli media have speculated the Obama administration would put forward new peace proposals to try to break the stalemate reached in talks Israel and the Palestinians launched at a conference in Annapolis, Maryland in November 2007.
Asked at a daily briefing in Washington on Monday when a peace plan might be announced by Mitchell, U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said: "I think it will be in a matter of weeks."
He gave no specifics.JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Tuesday the United... more

Okay here is the deal...
There is a cellphone company in Israel who recently put out a commercial (posted below) showing Israeli troops having fun in an impromptu game of soccer...wait for it..... over the concentration camp walls.
(I'm not kidding watch the video below)
A soccer ball comes over the wall, everyone realizes it is not a threat and then play a fun game kicking the ball back and forth while hot Israeli girls cheer.
Obviously people were sickened to see the ad. But someone actually decided to give it a try.
That is where the real fun begins. Watch the video above as they kick a soccer ball over to the Israeli soldiers and are met with a shower of tear gas grenades.
Sad and funny.
