Prisoners
“It would be better to drown these prisoners, in the Dead Sea if possible, since that’s the lowest point in the world.”
Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman, speaking on the release of Palestinian prisoners.
Palestinian Prisoners: The Facts
Prisoners are held in the approximately 30 detention centers (21 prisons, 5 detention, 4 interrogation centers, and at least 1 secret interrogation facility) located within the 1967 borders of Israel.
The figures of Palestinian detainees vary between sources. ICRC is following-up on roughly 10,500 prison-ers (October 2008); whereas Addameer, who get their data from HaMoked, who in turn get their data from the Israeli Prison Service, estimate that there are 9,493 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
Out of the 9,493 – 750 are administrative detainees, 349 are aged 18 and under, and 75 are female. Israel also detains 47 Palestinian parliamentarians. According to the Israeli Government 70% of prisoners have “blood on their hands”. The political make-up of prisoners is: 44% Fatah, 26% Hamas, 14% Islamic Jihad, 5% Popular Front, 1% Democratic Front, and 10% are undefined.Prisoners

The late Edward Said explained his title in what he wrote: "The extermination of the Native Americans can be admitted, the morality of Hiroshima attacked, the national flag (of the US) publicly committed to flames. But the systematic continuity of Israel's 52-year oppression and maltreatment of the Palestinians is virtually unmentionable, a narrative that has no permission to appear." It appeared boldly and courageously in Pilger's book, and it's long past time for it be prominent in the mainstream as well to finally expose Israeli crimes and demand they end. It's especially important now as Israel just began an intensive military assault against the defenseless people of Gaza, which, before it ends, may result in many deaths, great destruction of property and an overwhelming humanitarian disaster even beyond the one already existing in The Occupied Territories.
Few people anywhere have suffered more or longer than the beleaguered Palestinians. For nearly four decades they've lived under a harsh and unending Israeli occupation of their land. They've endured a continued assault to seize it, a loss of their personal and economic rights and a denial of any chance for justice or their very humanity. These courageous people remain isolated in their own land with little support from the outside. Yet it's never broken their spirit as they continue their heroic efforts to survive and struggle to gain their freedom. The late Edward Said explained his title in what he wrote: "The extermination of... more

Jims Hot Tamales has proudly been serving the Kansas City metro area for FOUR generations. I can remember going school clothes shopping down town at the Sears building, and begging my mom for them.
As a teen I would drive out of my way to obtain them. For about 2 bucks you can still get a darn good lunch, add a can of cold soda too if you want. Delivered to your car , fresh and hot.
You could not ask for a nicer bunch , when i came in to shoot the photos and video, the family was as concerned about the North East KC area as i was. Good quality food at a fair decent price from hardworking folks. What more could you ask for , Thank you Jim's Tamales for serving KC for many years.

Gone are the days when the kids filled this park with laughter. Gone are the days when children could safely play or shoot hoops after dark. Now after dark all there is is shootings.
How in the world did NEKCMO get like this? I am not lying when i say it was once a safe place to raise a family, where everybody knew everybody.
There was a time when driving on 9th or the avenue or sitting in Lykins meant HOME.Gone are the days when the kids filled this park with laughter. Gone are the days when... more

24hwy Armco bridge. Armco used to be a big time employer in NEKCMO now it sits empty and employs nobody or few ......
Northeast used to be a friendly little town with average people on average days. Now , it is so filled with crime , filth and despair that nobody wants to live there.
At one time you could name every person in every house on every block . Now you have speak Spanish to live there . Non legal residents have filled NEKCMO in masses .
I am however , not angry at this , because they chose to live in an area that was so crime filled that I chose to move from it .24hwy Armco bridge. Armco used to be a big time employer in NEKCMO now it sits empty... more
