It seemed that all of those who were gathered in the ballroom of Washington's Grand Hyatt hotel for the Media Research Center's annual "DisHonors Awards" ceremony designed to bash the dreaded liberal elite media were stunned. Buzz immediately commenced.
"Did Joe the Plumber really just say he's horny?" "Did you hear Joe say 'horny'?" "Why is he horny and why is he telling us?"It seemed that all of those who were gathered in the ballroom of Washington's Grand... more

Just when we thought the world was no longer laughing at us comes the news that Joe the Plumber aka Samuel Wurzelbacher will be a published author. As if Sarah Palin's media blitz weren't annoying enough, I'm wondering when his 15-minute clock of fame will expire. Unlike Palin whose book deal will reportedly be worth over $10 million, the uncertified and currently unemployed "plumber" signed a book deal reportedly worth $250,000 with Pearlgate Publishing to "co-write" Joe the Plumber - Fighting for the American Dream (vomit now). He claims all the big publishers had been courting him with more lucrative deals but he decided to go with the small Austin publisher (with just one book under its belt) to "spread the wealth around.". The book drops on December 1st for $23. Look for it in the bargain bins on December 2nd for $0.99. Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber," said Friday he may consider running for Congress in 2010, challenging longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D) in the Toledo-area district.
"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said during an appearance on the Laura Ingraham show Friday, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."
"There is a movement afoot to draft you to run for Congress," Ingraham said. "Joe, let me tell you something: you decide to run for Congress, and I'll help you with your PR, I'll help you do your ads, I mean, I'll volunteer to help you."
Ingraham's producer, Brad Feldman, said that during the break after the segment, Wurzelbacher told Ingraham that his statements today represent the first time he has acknowledged considering a bid for Congress in public.
Wurzelbacher said he did agree with Kaptur's vote against the bailout, and touted his support for a flat tax on income.
A Springfield, Ohio native, Wurzelbacher became a target of fame and scrutiny after Republican candidate John Mccain referenced the plumber during his third presidential debate against Barack Obama. Wurzelbacher confronted Obama during a campaign spot in northwest Ohio preceding the debate to ask Obama about his tax plan.
Supporters launched a website following Wurzelbacher's rise to prominence encouraging him to run for the seat.
Kaptur has represented Ohio's 9th congressional district since being elected in 1982, and has easily secured reelection in years since. She is expected to easily defeat Republican opponent Bradley Leavitt next month.Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber," said Friday he may consider running for... more

The star of Wednesday night's presidential debate used to live in Alaska.
And for once we're not talking about Gov. Sarah Palin.
Long before he was "Joe the plumber," Joe Wurzelbacher lived in North Pole and Eielson Air Force Base outside Fairbanks, according to Alaska public records. A family member says Wurzelbacher came to the state in the mid-1990s and stayed about four years — long enough to have the son who can be seen standing next to him in the now famous YouTube clip of Wurzelbacher grilling Sen. Barack Obama about taxes.
Kelly Morrison watched the debate with her husband in Midtown Anchorage. As the candidates sparred over someone named Joe the plumber, her husband kept telling Morrison that it had to be the Joe they know.
Morrison's sister, Jennifer, is Wurzelbacher’s ex-wife. They've known him for years. At one point, Joe worked as Morrison's plumber when they both lived in Arizona.
Then someone on TV said Joe’s last name.
"I'm like, 'That’s Joe!' And (my husband) said, 'I’ve been trying to tell you that the whole time," Morrison said.
Alaska records show Wurzelbacher listed a North Pole address in 1992 and 1993, and Eielson Air Force Base address in '94 and '95. He applied for hunting permits, owned an old Ford and a new Dodge, and paid a $76 fine in Fairbanks court for speeding.
It was unclear Thursday afternoon whether Wurzelbacher registered to vote while living in Alaska, and if so with which party, Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai wrote in an e-mail.
Wurzelbacher's son was born in the Fairbanks area in 1995, Morrison said. The star of Wednesday night's presidential debate used to live in Alaska.
