Halloween celebration invites possession by ghosts and demons, especially if celebrated repeatedly, finds a study conducted by the Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF).
MELBOURNE / NEW JERSEY (26 October 2011) - A basic law of spiritual science states that ‘The word, touch, form, taste, smell and its related energy coexist’. This means - where the name and form of ghosts, demons or negative energies exist, such as on Halloween, their distressing energy is present too. As the form and colour of the decorations and costumes used in Halloween celebration are similar to that of ghosts, they act as antennae to attract a lot of negative distressing energy.
“Even though we do not see it with our naked eye, the negative energy accumulated through Halloween celebration, apparel and accessories builds up around the body and in our environment, forming a black covering”, says Ana Prodanović of SSRF. She adds: “Its adverse effect on those masquerading themselves lasts up to three weeks, while a person celebrating Halloween repeatedly in time becomes completely absorbed in this black covering and thus 30% more susceptible to possession by a ghost”.
SSRF studies the laws and cause-effect relationships of the spiritual world and defines demonic possession as the control of a ghost or demon over the emotions, thoughts, decision making ability and subsequently actions of a person. The ghost or demon achieves this by merging with the person's consciousness.
The world’s population presently faces many difficulties, at least 50% of which have a spiritual cause. By celebrating Halloween, we further fuel their increase, hence SSRF advises everyone to refrain from Halloween celebration.
SSRF, based in Australia, with centres and spiritual seekers around the world, publishes spiritual research conducted through advanced sixth sense (ESP). Hence, it is able to study aspects of the spiritual dimension that are often overlooked by conventional research methods.

Immigration activists are calling on retailers to stop selling a controversial “Illegal Alien” Halloween costume featured on the websites of Walgreens, Toys R Us, Target, Meijer, Amazon, and other retailers. It includes an orange prison jumpsuit with the words “Illegal Alien,” a fake “Green Card,” and an alien mask.
After receiving complaints about the costume, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles wrote a letter to retailers asking them to stop selling the item. Executive director Angelica Salas called it “distasteful, mean-spirited, and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform.” Target has complied and apologized, saying, “This was never intended to be part of our assortment. We are moving as quickly as possible to remove it from our Web site.” The costume is also no longer on the Toys R Us website.
This morning, however, the hosts of Fox and Friends couldn’t get enough of the costume. Steve Doocy exclaimed, “It’s a joke! Where’s your sense of humor America?” Brian Kilmeade called it “fantastic,” adding, “If you’re here illegally, go to your local police station and tell them how outraged you arebecause you’re an illegal alien and this costume offends you!”Immigration activists are calling on retailers to stop selling a controversial... more

Rumor has it (on very good authority) that some local Olympic medal winner plans to dress up as Sarah Palin for Halloween. Couldn’t be more complicated than slapping some designer eyewear, up swept wig, and red Neiman Marcus power suit together. Throw in a small entourage of mesmerized voters and that local Olympic medal winner may have to stump rather than trick or treat.
Ah Halloween, such an incredibly silly time of year. Here, it looks like Cindy Crawford took one blogger's suggestion for a popular disguise.
Aside from the celebrity hi-jinx, people use Halloween as an excuse to load up on free candy, egg and TP neighborhoods, and pretend to be somebody else. They don’t seem to mind how ridiculous they look, especially if they’re hitting the party circuit in which case they go all out to look even more ridiculous. That’s because just about everyone at a party looks equally ridiculous, even more so when their reputation isn’t on the line.
On second thought, who am I trying to kid mentioning celebrities and reputation preservation in the same sentence? Despite the danger of being caught on camera, many stars have no problem whatsoever throwing caution to the wind. Honestly, some of the following costume ideas from Halloween Present and Past are utterly nauseating.

Kate Hudson's 2008 Bash

NATICK - Hold off on the come-hither "divine devil" outfits with high-cut, ragged velveteen skirts and "sassy vampiress" costumes with pink and black corset-style low-cut bodices. Suggestive Halloween costumes are not making the sale with 13-year-old trick-or-treaters Maggie Ryan and Meredith Sullivan.

"Not our thing," Ryan said drily.
"I wouldn't wear it," added Sullivan.
The friends instead chose Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone costumes, the decidedly unsexy, body-covering garb of a prehistoric cartoon character to collect candy around their Natick neighborhoods tonight.
An era when Halloween costume shopping for girls could be confused with exploring a Victoria's Secret lingerie trunk may be fading. Girls between the ages of 6 and 14 and their parents seem to be gravitating away from revealing costumes this year.
Consumers are expected to spend nearly $5.8 billion this year on the holiday, up a half-billion dollars from 2007, according to the National Retail Federation, but for the first time in years, they seem to be demanding more fabric for their cash.
Bumblebees, ladybugs, and superheroes like Wonder Woman and Batgirl are the hot garb this year, said Pam Harding, manager of the state's largest iParty store, on Route 9 in Natick, where Ryan and Sullivan shopped last week.
"Athena" Greek goddess outfits and 1950s "Pink Lady" getups are selling briskly, too, she said. Revealing costumes do sell well to older teens who are able to buy without parental oversight, she said, although last year, some of the most suggestive costumes were left unsold by season's end.

Since Halloween and the presidential election are so close on the calendar, political costumes for 2008 are becoming the topic of discussion for Halloween.
“I can see the political humor in it all,” Kevin Millis, sophomore liberal arts major, said.
Since the presidential election is right around the corner, all kinds of Sarah Palin versions are in high demand.
Online holiday retailers, including eBay.com, are selling Palin accessories such as toy guns, rimless eyeglasses, plastic babies and brown-haired updo wigs, to complete the look.
The Palin mask has been one of the top sellers this year. And if you want to be John McCain or Barack Obama, you can find them in stores.
According to the National Retail Federation, the most popular items will be the usual Halloween costumes that represent Halloween, which are witches, pirates, vampires, cats, fairies, nurses, super heroes and, most of all, U.S. political figures.
“I went to a party last week, and everyone was wearing the Joker costume,” James Thorne, junior business major, said.
Many Halloween costumes are based on popular movie characters featured during the current year.
Batman and Robin also are said to be one of the most sought after costumes for 2008.
The Joker outfit from the “Dark Knight” Batman movie will be a huge hit.
For some people, especially among those at the University of La Verne, creativity and the spending of a little less money on their costumes seems to be the focus.
