Shigerui Miyamoto has been speaking about creating a Super Mario World game for 3DS. In an interview with IGN, he discussed how the classic SNES platformer could work in 3D if he decided to make it.
Asked if he would change anything about Super Mario World, Miyamoto said: “Actually a lot of ideas that I would have liked to have implemented in Super Mario World have come to life in later Mario games since then.
“But the question gets me thinking about what fun it would be to create a Super Mario World game on the Nintendo 3DS and how we could use the depth and the sense of distance offered by 3D visuals on the world map and on the maps in that game, so that you have Bullet Bills flying at you from a distance and popping up off the screen.”Shigerui Miyamoto has been speaking about creating a Super Mario World game for 3DS.... more

Girlfriends and gaming don't usually go together, but this lovestruck nerd was an exception to the rule and managed to inject some romance into a Super Mario video game.
A gaming geek proposed to his girlfriend inside a Super Mario World level by spelling out the words "Lisa Will You Marry Me?" using gold coins.
According to the Telegraph, the romantic techie used an editing program called Lunar Magic to make the proposal inside the vintage game, then after she'd seen it, got down on one knee to offer a real ring.
