What can be expected from this change? One thing is for certain. They used to claim to be “hits and hip hop” now their tag line says “Portland’s Party Hits” which will probably mean less hip hop. Or to be more accurate the new branding now actually represents the music that they play since they haven’t played much hip hop since the first year they started the station in the early 2000’s when it was still on 95.5 (Now “The Game” sports talk radio).

Apparently there was a radio station that play nothing but the sound of birdsong from a British garden. Who knew? Well apparently (again) lots of people did as lots have complained about it's removal from digital radio. It's been claimed that 1/2 million people tuned in to hear the 20min long loop.
The station had been on the air for 18 months but was recently axed to make way for a crazy station that plays music, has DJs and the odd advert. This has prompted an outcry from it's loyal fans who are rumoured to be petitioning Government for it to be reinstated (er, guys - what Government? Haven't you heard the news?)

A man has been arrested for breaking into the studios of Birmingham radio station Galaxy 102.2 and managing to put himself on the air swearing for 30 minutes and also according to some reports reading out the phone numbers of some of the DJ's.
The man had to be removed from the radio station by police at 5.30 this morning. It is not known how he managed to bypass security arrangements in the studios on Broad Street in Birmingham.A man has been arrested for breaking into the studios of Birmingham radio station... more

A radio station in Vienna totally punked(!) the Albertina Museum during Beyonce's recent visit to the city.
Someone from the radion station pretended to be Beyonce's manager and called up the museum to schedule a private tour for her. The museum fell for it and set everything up.
While the real Beyonce was out shopping in Vienna, the fake one went to check out the art. A rep for the museum said, "Her face was extremely similar, but her body was totally different."

OLYMPIA, Wash. - A controversial atheist sign that was placed in the state Capitol near a Nativity scene vanished Friday morning, but then turned up at a Seattle radio station a few hours later.
A receptionist at the radio station KMPS said a man dropped off the sign around 10 a.m. and asked her to give it to show host Ichabod Caine. The man did not say how he came by it before he left, she added.
The state patrol is treating the disappearance as a theft investigation.
