Beleaguered Ajax manager Marco van Basten saw his side defeat UEFA Cup hopefuls Twente 2-0 in Enschede, despite the absence of important first team players like Miralem Sulejmani, Maarten Stekelenburg and Luis Suarez. The Ajax boss was delighted with his players' spirited display.
"We 're in a period of the season in which we need to improve our game and we invest a lot of time in doing so. However, it's crucial for a big side like Ajax to simply record victories, too," said Van Basten to De Telegraaf.
