I suppose, in some strange and vague sort of way, the exercise machine market is a good barometer for the state of capitalism in general. How far can manufacturers push consumers on the product ridiculousness scale? How stupid can a product be and still be sold? If there is a fundamental insecurity to be exploited what strange and wonderful products will move to capitalise on them?
We've had just about every wonderful machine under the sun sold to us exploiting our body anxious mind, and now capitalism offers you this - a treadmill that you take out on the road. These guys are dead serious, they are looking for investment and want to start selling this thing on infomercials the world over.
