People all over the USA and even some International cities protested the actions against equality in such as Proposition 8 in California, and others in Arkansas, Arizona and Florida on November 15, 2008. The rallies occurred simultaneously. Turnout was massive indicating that perhaps the opponents of gay marriage have reawakened the activist spirit in the gay community, which had become complacent.

After a few hours at Chicago's Federal Plaza, the demonstrators left and marched through the streets, among police on bicycle and horseback, to City Hall, The Thompson Center and ultimately down Michigan Avenue.
