Be careful what you choose for a Twitter account, because you might end up being sent hundreds of messages about a sporting event you've never heard of before.
For one girl in Westfield, Massachusetts choosing the Ashes saw her account swamped with requests on what the score was, which resulted in the now famed twitter phrase "I AM NOT A FREAKING CRICKET MATCH!!!".
Some of the tweets were jokes and linked to the 'I don't like cricket song' and others were tweeters referencing her account when Cricket tweeting.
She has since exploded with followers, been offered a free trip to Australia by Qantas #gettheashestotheashes and she even started selling shirts about the confusion.

The Twitter community has responded to Paul Chambers' guilty verdict at the Twitter Joke Trial by tweeting his original 'terrorist' message, with the hashtag #IAmSpartacus.
Chambers was convicted of "menace" for threatening to blow up an airport on Twitter for a laugh, lost his appeal yesterday and will have to pay approximately £2000 in legal fees (though Stephen Fry has offered to foot the bill).Chambers, a 27-year-old accountant whose online courtship with another tweeter led to the "foolish prank", had hoped that a crown court would dismiss his conviction and £1,000 fine without a full hearing. But Judge Jacqueline Davies instead handed down a devastating finding at Doncaster which dismissed Chambers's appeal on every count. After reading out his tweet – "Crap! Robin Hood airport is closed. You've got a week and a bit to get your shit together otherwise I'm blowing the airport sky high!!" – she found that it contained menace and Chambers must have known that it might be taken seriously. On Twitter, hundreds of uses are tweeting jokey threats with the hashtag #twitterjoketrial in protest.

According to the Twitters, it is British Sausage Week where I'm assuming bangers and mash are a must have meal. The website seems to archive this week long event as starting from 2009, so happy 2nd anniversary Sausage Week, you strange event I've only just heard of.
The website is filled with meat based recipes for anyone who still loves sausages after watching the Apprentice contestants making some meaty treats.
Though this event starts on the same week as World Vegan Day, so I'm guessing there is no conflict there.According to the Twitters, it is British Sausage Week where I'm assuming bangers... more

Saw the word Skye trending on Twitter and assumed it was a pop star name, though turns out it is the Isle of Skye where a Nuclear submarine is reported to be having difficulty by the MOD.
"An eye-witness said the sub - described as the stealthiest ever built in the UK - appeared to have grounded on rocks. A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said: "This is a not a nuclear incident.
"We are responding to the incident and can confirm that there are no injuries to personnel and the submarine remains watertight."-BBC
Alerts to the coastguard were made at 0819 BST with the situation being monitored. The BBC reports the Sub was carrying out sea trails at the time of the incident. Though this is not the first Sub to have problems in Skye, with the HMS Trafalgar taking million of pounds of damage in 2002.Saw the word Skye trending on Twitter and assumed it was a pop star name, though turns... more

Most managers when asked about the Man United issue with Rooney wanting to move, have said how shocked they are but did not want to say any more.
However, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway is now trending on twitter after this 'rant' over the current situation where he claims managers are bullied by players and their agents. Some are saying he's the next Brian Clough.
Football has had a lot of criticism over the amount on money paid for players, though this could be the closest the industry has come to a complaint from a manager.
Recently newspaper quoted Rooney saying the move from United was over the clubs future at winning trophies. Most managers when asked about the Man United issue with Rooney wanting to move, have... more
