Fashion designer Alexander McQueen has taken his own life at age 40. His office confirmed his deathsaying: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’ He was found at his home in London. The UK Sun reports that he hanged himself.

Alexander McQueen, fashion designer, was found dead in his London home this morning. According to Sky News McQueen was found hanged in his apartment. The death is being reported as an apparent suicide - and not suspicious. R.I.P. Alexander McQueen.

The British fashion designer Alexander McQueen has died at the age of 40, having taken his own life.
A source at McQueen’s office said: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’
His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9.
Sky News reports that McQueen hanged himself.
McQueen is believed to have become depressed following the death of his beloved mum Joyce a week ago.
Following her death, McQueen posted a series of worrying Tweets.
On February 3rd he wrote:
"i'm letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" before adding "but life must go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
On February 7th he left this message:
"sunday evening been a fucking awful week but my friends have been great but now i have to some how pull myself together"
His account since appears to have been deleted.

Another installment of designer duds for less. Alexander McQueen will be coming to a Target near you in March of 2009. This may seem like a copy of what H&M is doing / or did with Stella McCartney, or Comme des Garcons. But Target says it's not; the line is part of an ongoing program, Designer Collaborations, to bring designer clothes to the "masses." It sounds the same to me. Anywho.
The line will be priced under $129.99, and will be entirely McQueen's own, "no holds barred."
