Former RAF terrorist Christian Klar will be released from prison - despite not showing remorse over the nine murders for which he was jailed 26 years ago.
Klar was imprisoned in 1982 and handed a life sentence in 1985 for his leading role in the Red Army Fraction terror organisation as well as nine accounts of murder. Many in Germany are outraged at the decision, which they say is a slap in the face for the victims of the RAF.
Stephan Mayer, a legal expert for the Christian Social Union party, said that while the decision to release Klar could be justified in legal terms, “for the victims of the RAF it is no doubt a heavy burden. Christian Klar has up till now never issued one word of regret regarding the crimes of the RAF. In fact quite the opposite, he has recently even defended the aims that the RAF pursued.”
The victims of the RAF are disgusted with the decision. Jurgen Vietor, co-pilot of a Lufthansa plane called 'Landshut' which was hijacked in 1977, has given back his Order of Merit in protest, BILD can report.
Vietor is “disappointed and bitter” about the ruling of the court in Stuttgart: “His release mocks all the victims of the RAF, whether they are dead or alive.”
But Klar’s early release does not surprise the daughter of RAF victim Georg Wurster, who died during the assassination of the Federal Public Prosecutor Siegfried Buback: “I didn’t expect anything else” said Sabine Reichel in Ettlingen. “He is being released because that is law.”
But she is deeply unhappy at the decision: “We continue to suffer and the perpetrator is set free. It would be good if we never heard from him again.”

Austrian far right politician's double life Was Jorg Haider bisexual?

Revelations that far right politician Jorg Haider († 58) led a double life have stunned and divided Austria.
Just two weeks after Haider’s fatal car accident, the picture of the family man with two children has been shattered. Recent reports have suggested that Austria’s most famous and controversial politician may well have loved men as well.
It was revealed shortly after the crash that Haider had been at a gay bar on the night of his death, and BILD later tracked down a man he had been drinking with.
As yet there has been no proof that Haider, who was governor of Carinthia, was bisexual. But the Austrian internet newspaper ‘Scoop.at’ speculates: 'Did the end of a relationship with Stefan Petzner cost Haider his life?'
Petzner (27), Haider’s press spokesman and a close confidant, is now the official successor as leader of the ‘Alliance for the Future of Austria’ (AFA) party.
Stefan Petzer couldn’t hold back the tears in a recent TV interview after Haider’s death, and shocked many by saying: “He was my life partner.”
Petzner’s sister Christiane (30) did nothing to dampen rumours that Haider was bisexual in an interview with the Austrian magazine ‘Madonna’: “Stefan spent three quarters of his time with Jorg Haider, even on weekends and on holidays. He never left his side. Sometimes his wife Claudia Haider was jealous of him, because Stefan spent more time with her husband than she did.
“Stefan and Jorg were the best of friends. The bonds were very strong between them. In their own way they loved each other.”

The renowned US magazine ‘Time’ has published their 'Top 10 Fictional Cars' list. It is not bound by whether the car actually exists, is a piece of animation or whether it’s been created by special effects teams.
There are entries from across the world, including Herbie - a German-designed Volkswagon Beetle.
The winning car may not be state of the art, but at least it has its own theme song!

A plot by neo-Nazis to murder US presidential candidate Barack Obama has been thwarted by US government officials.
The shocking news circulated around the world at 20:23 GMT last night after the press agency AP published the sensational story ‘US government: conspiracy to kill Obama uncovered.’
A US government official confirmed that two neo-Nazis had planned to kill the presidential candidate for the US democrats, who represents the hopes of millions of people. Weapons were found on both potential assassins, who have been named as Daniel Coward (20) and Paul Schlesselman (18) from Tennessee and Arkansas. During police questioning they said “We believe in the power of the white race. We were prepared to die ourselves.” Photos show thug Cowart with a shaved head, a gun with a telescopic lens and a tattoo of a swastika on his shoulder.
Daniel Cowart lives with his grandparents in a relatively poor area, according to police. He didn’t have much of an education and got to know Paul Schlesselman over the internet.
The young men plotted to raid a weapons’ store in Tennessee to stock up on pistols, guns and ammunition. They then conceived a sick plan to attack a school and shoot 88 black students (88 stands for the initials HH, for ‘Heil Hitler’) and decapitate a further 14. The neo-Nazis would then have driven diagonally across the country, shooting randomly at people as they went.
On their road trip of destruction they would wear white tuxedos and white top hats.
Special Agent Jim Cavanaugh: “Their last and final act would be an attack on Barack Obama. They were determined to do it.” The court record stated that the pair “wanted to drive a car into Obama and shoot at him out of the windows.”
Who blew their cover?
But the callous pair were taken into custody on October 21 by a police patrol, after they had shot at windows of a church on their way to an armed robbery.

In the car police found lots of weapons, including an unloaded shot gun and a sporting gun. Neither of the men holds a weapons’ licence.
The police handed the men over to the investigation agency AFT, part of the FBI. Under investigation they confessed their murder plans and were brought in front of a judge yesterday on three counts of indictment: Planning to harm a presidential candidate, conspiracy to raid a weapons store and illegal possession of a firearm.

An Australian maths teacher has appeared in court over claims she seduced a vulnerable female pupil who was suffering from an eating disorder.
The young girl was just 14 when she attracted the sexual attention of her teacher. What started as a friendship with car rides and sneaky text messages blossomed into a sexual relationship that lead to the eventual arrest of the married teacher.
Now Anna Louise Thompson (28) has appeared in court as a result of the affair she started with the girl in Brisbane in 2003. She is charged with seducing a minor and inappropriate conduct, according to the ‘Courier-Mail’ newspaper.
Police representative Todd Fuller told the court: “They kissed and touched, and pleasured each other with their hands and mouths.” The relationship began with seemingly innocent lunch dates but soon became sexually intense. “They started to experiment with sex toys, lollipops, and wore collars.”
The girl’s parents had no idea what was happening and actually trusted the teacher. Thompson was treated like a member of the family and invited to birthdays and Christmas. She used to stay over at the family home and the girl would often spend weekends at her teacher’s house.
But the couple were found out when the parents discovered them having sex one evening. Their reaction was simply to request that their daughter keep her door open when she had visitors. Thompson’s husband also walked in on the pair when he came home from work earlier than expected one day.
The relationship lasted for three years and ended when the schoolgirl fell in love with a boy. She reported her teacher to the police when she was 16, and the case is still continuing.

Charming, handsome and deadly - 007 is the iconic British action hero who counts the Queen herself amongst his millions of worldwide fans. As London gears up for the world premiere of the new James Bond film later today, BILD sat down with the film’s star, Daniel Craig, at the luxury Dorchester hotel.
He is certainly a popular actor. Princes William and Harry will be among the stars attending the premiere.
As 007 walks into the room, his charming smile breaks for a second – his right arm is dangling in two black slings. “My shoulder was at the doctor”, he jokes, offering his left hand (adorned with an old Rolex). “Sorry!”
Daniel Craig, dapper in a fitted cashmere jacket, steel-grey shirt, black spotted tie and dark, sexy trousers, is relaxed. His laugh is gravelly and his eyes, a Paul Newman shade of blue, are shining.

007: Yes and no. Millions of people know who I am now, but I have remained myself. I am not Bond. I am Daniel Craig.

New 007 film 'Quantum of Solace' premieres in London. Who was the sexiest James Bond girl ever?

The stars were out in force for the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening and the ladies were looking particularly sexy and glamorous.
Singers Rihanna (20), Christina Aguilera (27) and Mariah Carey (38) all turned heads with their fantastic outfits which showed off their cracking cleavages.
In the awards, R'n'B singer Chris Brown (19) cleaned up by winning three categories – ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Favourite male R'n'B artist’ and ‘Favourite male pop-rock artist’. Sexy Rihanna didn’t go home empty-handed either as she scooped ‘Favourite female R'n'B artist’ and ‘Favourite female pop-rock artist’.
She accepted her awards in a breathtaking backless white dress. The audience also enjoyed her tight black leather outfit when she performed her new single, ‘Rehab’.
Alicia Keys (27) looked stunning as well, dressed in a lilac gown. The soul queen was nominated in five categories, but won only two awards for her recent album ‘As I Am’.
Christina Aguilera showed off her curves in a floor-length silver dress when she arrived at the show, but changed into a tight, black number for her performance. Singer Beyonce (27) shook her hips in short, black hotpants, while pop siren Mariah Carey shone in a skin-tight black and silver ensemble…
All in all, it was one of the breast award ceremonies ever!
Pope Benedict XVI has forgiven John Lennon more than 40 years after he uttered one of music's most famous phrases: "The Beatles are more popular than Jesus Christ!"
Lennon († 40), who shot dead in 1980, made the comment in a 1966 interview, and it caused outrage and controversy around the world - and especially within the Catholic Church.
But the Vatican 'Osservatore Romano' newspaper has marked the 40th anniversary of the release of the Fab Four’s ‘White Album’ with an article admiring the group’s success and forgiving Lennon.
His words were dismissed by the paper as being nothing more than “the arrogance of a young person from the British working class, who was obviously overwhelmed by his unexpected success”.
The ‘White Album’ was so called because of the colour of its cover, and was one of the Liverpool group’s later records. A large part of it was inspired by the time the group spent meditating in northern India in the 1960s.
Now the Vatican is praising the legendary Beatles album, saying it demonstrated how creative the band could be in comparison to the “standardised, stereotypical music” that is produced today.

Pirelli's famous calendar will be presented in Berlin for the first time this year - and BILD gives you a hot preview of the 2009 edition.
The Italian tyre company has been photographing the sexiest models in the world’s most exotic locations since 1964. Glamorous stars who have posed for the calendar in the past include Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, Hilary Swank and Sophia Loren.
But this year is different. Star photographer Peter Beard (70) chose to capture the beauty of Africa for 2009. The American, who previously lived in Kenya, did the photo shoot with a team of beautiful models in Okavangodelta, Botswana.
Nude models frolicked with free roaming elephants, and Beard’s rich images symbolise just how natural and unspoilt the African landscape can be.
The hottest calendar in the world is not available for purchase this year – Pirelli is giving it exclusively to clients and friends.
