Geeks and online gamers rejoice, PlayStation Home is going live as of today.
The new platform will allow users to interact with each other in a 3D virtual on-line community (a bit like Second Life but probably with less ubergeeks.)
It will allow users to completely customise the interface they use to text/voice chat with other PS3 gamers as well as allowing them to use personalised avatars.
Best of all kids, is that the basic features of PS Home will be available as a free download which users can experience the basic functionality through. Building your own arena (like as Engadget suggested, a club) to chat to other Home users will come at a cost though. It didn't say if it was a monetary cost, the cost of your social life, or even an unhealthy mix of both.Geeks and online gamers rejoice, PlayStation Home is going live as of today.
