Tim Burton and The Addams Family? If it sounds like a kookily perfect match made in a spooky old mansion to you, then prepare to celebrate as Deadline Hollywood reports Burton will make a 3D stop-motion movie based on Charles Addams’ famous creations.
While there may be mixed feelings about Burton continuing to stick with adaptations of other peoples’ work rather than pursuing his own visions, the idea that he’ll dig into the sharp wit of Addams’ Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and the rest sounds like a solid idea. Plus, with the focus on the original cartoons rather than the campier TV show or the Barry Sonnenfeld movies (though I still have a soft spot for the first film), it should be a dark little delight.
There’s no writer attached yet, so this one is a while from starting, and chances are he’ll knock out at least one live-action film (Dark Shadows, finally?) before the doors to the Addams’ home swing open and we’re met by Lurch the towering, groaning manservant.
So now all we need to know is, will Burton strike out in a completely new direction for the lead voices, or will he hire Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter?Tim Burton and The Addams Family? If it sounds like a kookily perfect match made in a... more

Dan Persons, Steve Biodrowski, and Lawrence French follow Tim Burton down the rabbit hole, analyzing his live-action redo of the Disney animated classic, ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Is it Burton at his best – or another blunder? Does it surpass the original, or does it fall flat as a knave of hearts? Also on the bill, a look at the weekend’s award winners for horror, fantasy, and science fiction films; plus the usual round-up of exciting news items, upcoming home video releases, and random recommendations.

Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice) attempts to work his gothic magic over one of the best loved stories of all time... Lewis Carroll's 'Alice In Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There', which first told the story of a young girl, who after following a rabbit down a hole, is transported to a strange world. Whilst the disney version of the tale relied on sweetness and light to delight the audience, Burton fans can be sure to look out for the same cartoon traits as earlier masterpiece 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.
The traditional tale has been freshened with a blast of girl power, courtesy of writer Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast). Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn't remember.

Conversations with Other Women (2005) stars Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter. It is a simple film that revolves around a conversation between two people one night. The film is shot entirely in split-screen. The split screen allowed for many interesting things; one is when the characters come together in one side the other side can be used for flash backs, another is when a conversation takes place you can see both people's expressions and opposite views simultaneously. This could certainly be messy and not for all audiences. I was a little unsure where I should look when starting but soon enough the images merged in my head making for a one of a kind experience that was enjoyable. The director/editor (Hans Canosa) did a bang up job!

Although earlier this morning we got our first official glimpses at Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as The White Queen from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, there were quite a few characters missing, most notably Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar, Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat, and the two brothers Matt Lucas plays - Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Luckily, Movies.ie (via SlashFilm) has scored an extra promo banner for Wonderland that features both Tweedledee and Tweedledum. If you thought those other photos looked weird, just wait until you see this.Although earlier this morning we got our first official glimpses at Johnny Depp as The... more
