Amid all the controversy about the hacked e-mails of climate scientists comes an ABC-Washington Post poll that says a majority of Americans believe that global warming is happening and that a cap on greenhouse gases should be imposed nationally.
That’s a drop of 8 percentage points (thanks, Don!) compared with those believed in global warming a year ago (and a drop of 12 percentage points over the past three years).Amid all the controversy about the hacked e-mails of climate scientists comes an... more

If the juvenile and wildly erratic behavior of celebrity environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. is anything to go by, the warmists are more upset about ClimateGate than they are letting on.
The rest of the interview mainly consists of Begley having a tantrum, wildly gesticulating and waving his finger around like a drunken sailor. Implicit within his behavior is everything that has come to represent the climate cultists – a religious-style zeal in proclaiming absolute truth, an obstinate refusal to even entertain dissenting opinions, and an aggressive shouty posture indicative of someone in deep denial attempting to drown out anything that might contradict their flimsy argument.
Hilariously, Begley flip-flops within the space of twenty seconds, first claiming that the government should come into private homes to conduct energy audits, then almost immediately contradicting himself.
“You should have an energy audit in your home to make it more efficient,” states Begley, before the host makes his point about the government coming into people’s homes and telling them they can’t have incandescent light bulbs.
“What kind of American believes that the government should come right into a private house and say you can’t have this kind of light bulb,” asks the host, to which Begley responds, “Nobody’s going to come into your house.”If the juvenile and wildly erratic behavior of celebrity environmentalist Ed Begley,... more

Hackers have tried to prove that global warming researchers are manipulating their data, after stealing sensitive e-mails from one of the UK's leading climate research centers.
Yahoo StumbleUpon Google Live Technorati del.icio.us Digg Reddit Mixx Propeller More than 1,000 e-mails were taken from the University of East Anglia – the main source for measuring global temperatures – and anonymously posted on a computer server in Russia.
It's claimed that these e-mails show scientists manipulated data to boost their argument that human behavior is behind global warming.
It has yet to be investigated whether any of the e-mails posted by hackers were falsified.Hackers have tried to prove that global warming researchers are manipulating their... more

Top climate alarmists have conceded that the climategate scandal represents a huge blow to the global warming movement and that the debate is not over, and yet establishment media organs are still invoking South Park’s Officer Barbrady in downplaying the story despite the fact that it clearly illustrates how evidence which directly disproves global warming is being censored by agenda-driven scientists.
The Guardian’s George Monbiot, a climate change zealot and a staunch defender of the faith, concedes that the science now needs “reanalyising” and that CRU Director Phil Jones should resign.
“It’s no use pretending that this isn’t a major blow. The emails extracted by a hacker from the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia could scarcely be more damaging. I am now convinced that they are genuine, and I’m dismayed and deeply shaken by them,” writes Monbiot.Top climate alarmists have conceded that the climategate scandal represents a huge... more

Calls for an independent inquiry into what is being dubbed “Climategate” are growing as the foundation for man-made global warming implodes following the release of emails which prove researchers colluded to manipulate data in order to “hide the decline” in global temperatures.
Former British chancellor Lord Lawson was the latest to demand an impartial investigation be launched into the scandal, which arrives just weeks before the UN climate conference in Copenhagen. “They should set up a public inquiry under someone who is totally respected and get to the truth,” he told the BBC Radio Four Today programme.
The emails were leaked at the end of last week after hackers penetrated the servers of the Climatic Research Unit, which is based at the University of East Anglia, in eastern England. The CRU is described as one of the leading climate research bodies in the world.
The hacked documents and communications reveal how top scientists conspired to falsify data in the face of declining global temperatures in order to prop up the premise that man-made factors are driving climate change.Calls for an independent inquiry into what is being dubbed “Climategate”... more

White House science czar John Holdren has predicted 1 billion people will die in "carbon-dioxide induced famines" in a coming new ice age by 2020.
Holdren predicted in a 1971 textbook co-authored with Malthusian population alarmist Paul Ehrlich that global over-population was heading the Earth to a new ice age unless the government mandated urgent measures to control population, including the possibility of involuntary birth control measures such as forced sterilization.
Holdren's prediction that 1 billion people would die from a global cooling "eco-disaster" was announced in Ehrlich's 1986 book "The Machinery of Nature."
Holdren based his prediction on a theory that human emissions of carbon dioxide would produce a climate catastrophe in which global warming would cause global cooling with a consequent reduction in agricultural production resulting in widespread disaster.White House science czar John Holdren has predicted 1 billion people will die in... more

Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't risen in more than a decade; Great Lakes water levels have resumed their 30-year cyclical rise (contrary to a decade of media scare stories that they were drying up due to global warming), and polls show that climate change doesn't even make a list of Michigan voters' top-ten concerns.
Yet in an interview with the Detroit News Monday, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) - recently appointed to the Senate Energy Committee - made clear that fighting the climate crisis is her top priority.Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't... more

I have heard and seen some crazy stuff in my time but this takes the biscuit!!!
President Obama has appointed John P. Holdren as his Science Czar. This crazed maniac penned a book with Paul and Anne Ehrlich in 1977 titled Ecoscience. In this book he mentions compulsory population-control laws, laws including compulsory abortion, and that these could be sustained under the existing constitution.
He also goes on about taking children from single mothers and placing them with married couples, adding a chemical that would sterilize humans to drinking water or to staple foods.
The book also mentions about a transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.
What is going on here? Why are “We The People” allowing this to happen?I have heard and seen some crazy stuff in my time but this takes the biscuit!!!... more

The climate “crisis” is a “moral issue that requires serious debate,” Al Gore proclaimed in an April 27 AlGore.com blog post.
His conversion to the Anglo-American tradition of robust debate came a mere three days after the ex-VP refused to participate in a congressional hearing with Lord Christopher Monckton, former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Republicans had invited Monckton to counter Gore’s testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The climate “crisis” is a “moral issue that requires serious... more

The theory that climate change is chiefly caused by solar influences “is no longer tenable,” says US National Academy of Sciences president Ralph Cicerone. Carbon dioxide, he argues, is the key driver of recent climate change. I beg to differ.
The amount and distribution of solar energy that we receive varies as the Earth revolves around the Sun and also in response to changes in the Sun’s activity. When The New York Times publishes a story, as it did on February 19, regarding the next step in the Obama administration’s intention to destroy the U.S. economy, it’s a very good idea to pay attention.
“E.P.A. Expected to Regulate Carbon Dioxide” was the headline of John M. Broder’s article. “The Environmental Protection Agency is expected to act for the first time to regulate carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that scientists blame for the warming of the planet, according to top Obama administration officials.” ...When The New York Times publishes a story, as it did on February 19, regarding the... more

I began 2009 praising carbon dioxide as the gas, along with oxygen, upon which all life on Earth depends.
Now I praise coal and for reasons the mainstream press and other media will studiously avoid telling you. Coal, as you may recall, is on the Obama hit list because its use, according to the environmental loonies, will doom the Earth to a global warming that is not happening.
The United States is home to huge deposits of coal. It is second only to China in terms of total coal consumption. In 2007, the U.S. used about 1.1 billion tons of coal. According to an authority on energy, Robert Bryce, “That’s the energy equivalent of about 4.2 billion barrels of oil per year or about 11.5 million barrels of oil per day.” By way of comparison, “America’s daily coal ration contains more energy than Saudi Arabia’s daily oil production.” That’s a lot of energy.I began 2009 praising carbon dioxide as the gas, along with oxygen, upon which all... more
