Work to live or live to work ? In today's economy it's hard to tell the difference anymore. I'm opening up a can of worm's right now, but I am royally pissed off at my workplace for the following reason. Mandatory Random UA's. Over the course of the last week many of our employees have been suspended or fired for failing random UA's. You know, I can understand if an employee shows up to work hella blazed or tweaking (on meth) etc. But when you fire someone who is not currently under the influence but just happened to spark up at a Party two days ago on their weekend off ? Come ON ! Maybe it's just because I am Canadian, but I find this absolutely ludicrous. That's like firing someone for getting wasted and having a one night stand on their winter vacation in Cancun. If it's not on the property and not affecting your job performance what is the big fucking deal. I've dealt with not being allowed piercings, visable tattoos, unnatural hair colors etc, but when did we allow or accept being told what we can or cannot do outside of the workplace?!?!?! Yes, I realize people are going to argue that narcotics are illegal substances blah blah blah, but last time I checked, it wasn't my employers job to Police me or my fellow coworkers while we are off the clock.
