Many organizations are focused on stopping random hackers and blocking pornography when they should be concerned with bigger threats from professional cybercriminals, according to a new cybersecurity report.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) have been working on the development of "cybercrime" squads, as part of a new government scheme to upscale national cyber-security.
The plans are currently being reviewed and analysed by the ACPO -- they aim to improve the techniques used to target criminals working in auction fraud, using malware and hacking systems, as well as other forms of electronic crime.
The ACPO's e-crime strategy will provide support for the Police Central e-Crime Unit (PCeU), who some feel has been set back by an insufficient £7.4m three-year budget.
The PCeU has been networking with the bank industry to runvirtual task-forces, however banks have been reluctant to provide personal information. Still, police chiefs are optimistic this model could be expanded to partnerships with retailers and property companies, who have also suffered from the rise in cybercrime.
A spokeswoman for the ACPO stated: "How many regional cybercrime squads there might be, or where they will be based, is yet to be determined."The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) have been working on the development... more
