In line with its Islamist ideology, the Palestinian Authority in Gaza has enacted a new law adopting the traditional Muslim criminal code. Penalties include amputation and crucifixion, as well as the death penalty for negotiations contrary to Hamas's interpretation of "Palestinian interests".

Reversing public sympathy for their plight, the elected Palestinian Government has launched a bombardment of rockets and mortars at Israeli civilian cities, violating International Law and the Geneva Conventions. By midafternoon Wednesday, 60 rockets and mortars had terrorized southern Israel.
While the international community was sympathetic to their plight, these actions have turned much of the world communties goodwill against the terrorist entity in Gaza.
Ironically, the attacks took its steepest toll in Gaza as explosives apparently misfired, wounded three civilians and killing two militants. One of the injured civilians works for a conflict resolution center.
A rocket slammed directly into a house in the small community of Tkuma seconds after a father rushed his children from the living room into a bomb shelter. The living room wall had a gaping hole and was sprayed with shrapnel. Toys lay covered in rubble and dust. A crib was pocked by shrapnel and filled with pieces of concrete.
Egypt has sealed its border crossing with the territory, which is Gaza's main gateway to the outside world. Before the violence escalated, Israel had agreed to open cargo crossings with Gaza on Wednesday to allow in a limited amount of food, medicines and fuel, including supplies from Egypt. In a humanitarian gesture of goodwill, Today Israel allowed a shipment of food and humanitarian supplies to residents of the Gaza Strip. Israel brought basic food, medicine, petrol and cooking gas, into the Gaza Strip. In addition, five Egyptian trucks containing humanitarian supplies will also be allowed passage into the Strip.

The so-called Enlightened crowd of Current.com, apparently is not immune to antisemitism. In the last week, there have been 12 references to the "Jewish Lobby". In previous weeks the average was between 2-4 for the last few months.
Anti-Jewish commentary is flooding the Internet in the wake of Bernard Madoff's arrest on charges of masterminding one of the biggest Wall Street frauds. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said there had been "an outpouring of anti-Semitic comments on mainstream and extremist Web sites."
"Site users have posted comments ranging from deeply offensive stereotypical statements about Jews and money to conspiracy theories about Jews stealing money to benefit Israel," the ADL said in a statement.
