Last night at around 9:20 pm the Sunset District went dark, well at least parts of it did and in the darkness it gave me time to reflect. This doesn't happen that often anymore, but we did used to see it happen every few months a couple of years ago. We prepared ourselves some time ago so we had the candles and LED lights ready to go.Last night at around 9:20 pm the Sunset District went dark, well at least parts of it... more

When you’re in danger on a night dive situation communications could be critical. You are able to invest 100s of dollars in fancy SCUBA communications gear, or understanding the fundamental Scuba hands signals can help to save your butt. If you didn’t pay just as much attention as you ought to have throughout your certificating class you will see and print illustrations of the very common hands signals. Most importantly, practice how you can talk with your teammate Before getting within the water

The reason I maintain this blog is that I give a damn. I want to reach as many people as possible and make certain they are aware of what is going on in this nation.
That is a challenging proposition while working 40 plus hours a week in addition to making time to stay physically fit and still read, investigate, analyze, draft and publish a blog.
The Texas Red legislature which meets every other year is this year a GOPer dominated mean-spirited group of lawmakers doing the bidding of the oligarchs. The reason I maintain this blog is that I give a damn. I want to reach as many people... more

Today is a day to delve deep into the darkness of San Francisco. While at times I’d like to feel that I’m the qualified source for this topic, I’m not. I wanted to write a piece about Anton Szandor LaVey, a man who in the mid 60′s stepped out into the media spotlight with a look not unlike Vladimir Lenin which, was not the best looks to have during the cold war, yet he was a beloved member of San Francisco’s infamous crowd that helped put San Francisco a little more present in the societies of the strange that helped make us what we are today.Today is a day to delve deep into the darkness of San Francisco. “Night Tales” is a stunning series of photographs by the Belgium photographer Tim Corbeel. Taking pictures at night is truly an art; you need to have full control over your camera, equipment and the night itself. Corbeel’s nighttime photographs passionately capture the emotions, atmosphere and beautiful moments of darkness.
This piece includes a number of high-resolution black-and-white photographs, a slide show and a music video.

A very tangible manifestation of black-winged demon of despair and his influence is described by Edgar Allan Poe in his uncannily beautiful poem, "The Raven." Making masterful use of his gift for consonance and cadence, Poe has, within seventeen stanzas, depicted as powerful a description of a descent into the pit as to be found outside Dante's Inferno. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/section-blog/3667-edgar-allen-poeA very tangible manifestation of black-winged demon of despair and his influence is... more

Click link to view my photo album. I have been going to the Smokey Mountains since I was a child. I have always loved being in the woods, but going to the Smokies is always so much better than just going into the woods. The waters flowing with such force, the trees so much larger than just going into the woods. I always end up seeing some kind of an animal whether it be a deer or a bear, or a wolf, On my last visit on 09-10-2009 at the end of the day while travelling out of the park, a white wolf, true story, crossed in front of our car and slowly made his way down of the edge of the road and down the embankment. I have put together several photos of my trip that day and I am going to share them with everyone because I want you to enjoy these most interesting sites as much as I did.
Please look for all of my coverage on The Great Smokey Mountain National Park.

Overjoyed by Euna's and Laura's return home, I wanted to share this frighteningly interesting article about North Korea.
Before reading this article, I knew that North Korea to be the most isolated country with regard to freedom of speech and of sharing information, but I didn't know the whole story.
There is absolutely no internet nor are there cell phones, and most people in the country don't even know that a man has walked on the moon. The citizens' source for information is a government issued radio installed in their homes. People can never turn off these radios; they can merely decrease the volume.
Citizens idolize Kim Jong-Il, their "Dear Leader," and place a flower at the statue's feet when they enter Pyongyang. This idolatry becomes even more frightening when I find out that in case of fire, citizens typically rescue portraits of "Dear Leader" before anything else. The country also has special bunkers to protect the statues of "Dear Leader" should they go to war.
They hate America to the extent that many of their postage stamps show North Koreans killing American "imperialists." And mothers teach their young children songs about "bad" Americans.
With this intense lack of information, idolatry of their leader, and propaganda for hating America, it is incredibly frightening to know that North Korea boasts the world's fourth largest military, with an estimated 1.2 million armed members.
Read the attached article for more information about the world's "dark spot."Overjoyed by Euna's and Laura's return home, I wanted to share this... more

In this piece I wanted to challenge the viewer's perception and judgment of the character in the video. At the beginning it appears to most that there is an illegal transaction taking place. As the sequence progresses this assumption is somewhat reinforced, until the very end in which the contents of the secret package are revealed and the viewer is forced to re-assess his/her initial judgement of the character. In this piece I wanted to challenge the viewer's perception and judgment of the... more

AND IT'S NOT GLOBAL WARMING! I can see this happening, but it's not from Global Warming, earth just doesn't magically block the sun, or reverse it's rotation...that's the Earth giving sign, it's going to die on it's own. Oh, the dumass's in the article keep talking about Al Gore, how the f is Gore going to help...whatever has happened/happened and Gore cannot stop it, no one can, so if it happens it will happen, don't look to Gore or Obama to save you, it's like people think those people are gods...there not here to save the world...jeez.
------------
Richard Strimple over at American Thinker has just found scientific proof that the Earth is doomed. We are nearing extinction due to our inability to fight Global Warming.
It seems that our Earth, like in the wholly miserable flop of a movie that is currently playing, is trying to get rid of us. After 10 billion years of inhabitance and the killing of "Mother Earth", she has finally had enough of us.
]]
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I have detected a new crisis that I have named "the daylight change crisis". I first noticed it sometime around the end of June this year. I started paying attention and created computer models and sure enough I was right! We are losing daylight at an astonishing rate. Each day we are losing approximately 2 minutes of day light and my computer models predict total darkness by next July.
I have been able to detect this phenomenon around the entire Northern Hemisphere. And here is the scary part: the day light appears to be leaking to the Southern Hemisphere.
[[
His computer models and extensive personal research over many decades have brought up frightening new revelations as to the extent of our possible extinction. You have already heard about the disappearance of our honey bees, right? New evidence shows this....
Many species of birds and millions of individual birds have left the northern hemisphere. The impact of the loss of these birds is unimaginable.
Insect life has been severely affected and most can no longer be observed.
Large mammals have been observed lying in a state of near death torpor in their dens.
Crop production has fallen to dangerously low levels. My models predict famine in the near future.Alternate Article or just Google:... more
