The Guardia Civil and National Police have intercepted 3,284kg of narcotics originating from South America. Cocaine was hidden inside wind mills and shipments of bananas, peppers and sweets.
The harbour of Valencia is the main gateway of cocaine in Europe, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs. In 2009, the Spanish police apprehended 3.284kilos of cocaine going in through the harbour. The drug came from Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador.
The amount of cocaine getting in through the harbour of Valencia is higher than in other hot spots of Spain, like Barcelona, Algeciras and Vigo. In fact, according to the latest report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), data from 2007 shows Valencia as the biggest drug gateway in Europe, and sources from the Guardia Civil assured that the same happened in 2009.The Guardia Civil and National Police have intercepted 3,284kg of narcotics... more
