A 50 years old woman who earns a living with acupuncture and massage is a risk to national security? Another woman of 45 years with a husband and two adult children, is a danger to italian citizens?
These are the stories of "illegal" immigrants detained without trial, without reason and without any conviction in the identification and deportation centers (Cie), for a period of up to 6 months.A 50 years old woman who earns a living with acupuncture and massage is a risk to... more
Refugees of war are not criminals or potentially violent people but are men, women and children victims of violence, trying to escape. This is not a difficult concept to understand, but Italy rejects refugees treating them like criminals, like commodities, like waste. Berlusconi's government is criticized for its behavior by the EU and UN, but doesn't give a damn.Refugees of war are not criminals or potentially violent people but are men, women and... more
Prime Minister Berlusconi is right about the Italian Information System. The News titled: "Gadhafi Shows His True Colors" published on The Wall Street Journal by Bernard Henri Levy two weeks ago, on Thursday, August 20, arrived at the attention of the Italian Press only yesterday. Infact Corriere della Sera under Elena Givone's translation dedicated a page to the same article here titled: "Gheddafi and the Black list Canceled by Western Governments. Meaning of Welcome to Lockerbie Bombing."
Today also Radio 3 Rai gave the same news, and I am always more upset. 'Why just now?,' I am asking to myself. What does a 'Parler pour Parler' mean? Do we invite important thinkers and experts and journalists to write on Italian newspapers just and only to fill the spaces of a menabò? Why don't invite them to better see the True Colors of Reality? Why don't invite them to give us the chance to find other and better solutions thus to do not make false steps on the way?
This is a very sensitive period in History that every move can be a disaster. Why don't listen before? Why do not know before a catastrophe? And be able, be willing to act with prudence, without having to compromise, without having to do double and triple games. Without thinking just to an economic profit that in this particular time of History could lead to a giant disaster. We should remains intacts, we should try to become integrated, global.
This is the desire of Eastern philosophies, it's a desire of Christians and I believe a desire of everyone in charge with the health of our world and society, in charge with the precarious balance of the current History. Bernard Henri Levy, I believe, his not Christian, but I am sure he just doesn't write only to write. And I do not understand why only now the Italian Press published his article. He wasn't Christian on August 20 as he isn't Christian now, on September 4 and 5, after that everything in Lybia already happened.
European Union is hypocritical and never takes a position on anything. In the world doesn't count much because all dictatorships know that european criticism, protests and opinion are just a facade. The reality is that Europe is more of a business committee than a political entity and cares only about money. Iran massacre opponents? "Every human being has the right to submit an application to have the status of refugee or international protection," said European Commission spokesman Dennis Abbott. The EU is aware of the rejection to Libya of a boat with 75 Eritrean and Somali refugees, including 15 women and 3 children, and will send a request of information to the two countries involved, Italy and Malta."Every human being has the right to submit an application to have the status of... more
Actions always have consequences and this is especially true in politics. Putting a cross on an electoral symbol has consequences, and make decisions while you are in the government has other, much larger ones. Today reading the testimony of the eritrean girl who survived, miraculously, the policies implemented by Europe and Italy against immigration, people should understand that these are the consequences.Actions always have consequences and this is especially true in politics. Most Italians just don't to understand why it's criminal, inhumane and immoral to reject in Libya immigrants arriving by sea. The members of the government don't understand either, maybe because they ended up being victims of their own propaganda. The Minister of legislative simplification Calderoli says it's not good to let people come to Italy, because immigration deprives the country of origin of labor force and anyway our country cannot accommodate everyone. Most Italians just don't to understand why it's criminal, inhumane and immoral to... more
The Scottish Minister of Justice, Kenny MacAskill, says Libya failed to keep its word about the return of the Lockerbie bomber last week. However, when he arrived at Tripoli airport, he received a hero's welcome. The Scottish Minister of Justice, Kenny MacAskill, says Libya failed to keep its word... more
While the world rightly continues to laugh at this ridiculous country, in Italy happen things that aren't funny at all. It's not funny that 73 refugees have died at sea while no one cared enough to help them. It's not funny the fact that the five survivors, under the new security decree, may be prosecuted for illegal immigration. It's not funny playing the game "bounce the clandestine" created on Facebook by the son of Northern League leader Bossi. While the world rightly continues to laugh at this ridiculous country, in Italy happen... more
73 migrants died of starvation in the channel of Sicily, after 20 days adrift in one of the most watched sea of the world. The five survivors, a woman, two men and two minors, say they had sighted several fishing boats that didn't help them. Only the last one gave them a little food and water. Humanitarian organizations consider the story true for the simple fact that is not the first episode of migrants who die at sea in the mediterranean.73 migrants died of starvation in the channel of Sicily, after 20 days adrift in one... more
The rejections keep going on the high seas but the media dont' speak about them, perhaps because they are ashamed. Yesterday the news, almost invisible even in the web, of 47 immigrants, including 20 women, "relieved" 70 miles south of Lampedusa and brought back to Libya. Other 89 were rejected on July 1. Among them 9 women and 3 children. But we'll not see them on television, because in this case Italians could understand that these are human beings like us and not criminals. The rejections keep going on the high seas but the media dont' speak about them,... more
CAIRO: Libyan leader Muhammar Qaddafi, the new head of the African Union, said on Monday he would continue to press for the creation of a pan-African state. Qaddafi was elected at the tenth session of the African Union in the Ethiopan capital, Addis Ababa, succeeding Tanzanian President Jakaya Kidwete.
"I will continue to work to ensure that our sovereign states unite into a United States of Africa," he said, according to Nile News.
Qaddafi has long been campaigning for the establishment of a continental government, a project that has met with fierce opposition from a significant number of African Leaders.
Liby has also been attempting to reform its socialist economy and embrace globalization since mending ties with the West by abandoning its quest for weapons of mass destruction at the end of 2003.CAIRO: Libyan leader Muhammar Qaddafi, the new head of the African Union, said on... more
