Sono finalmente giunto nel Black Rock Desert in Nevada per partecipare al Burning Man:
un festival di 8 giorni che raccoglie ogni anno migliaia di persone. Il festival viene descritto dagli organizzatori come un esperimento di vita in una comunità temoporanea, radicale prova di autosufficienza e di sopravvivenza. I visitatori devono portare con se i l'acqua e i viveri necessari per tutto il periodo della manifestazione, qui non esistono negozi ed e vietato vendere qualunque tipo di bene, o barattarlo, l'unica economia che esiste qui e quella del dono.
Il tema aritistico di quest'anno è il sogno americano, i visitatori sono invitati a riflettere su questo tema. Nel Burning Man infatti l'arte occupa un posto di grande rilievo, le persone che giungono nel Black Rock desert hanno l'opportunità di esprimere se stessi in totale libertà.

Hey everyone
Hope things are going super duper out there in the real world. Just woke up over here in Black Rock City. Can't even tell you how great the experience and response has been already. Great things are happening all over the playa. The art projects are ridiculous so make sure you try and watch a few of those. The Outdoor Cinema is awesome and has been getting a great response. It's great to hear people that know our name and respect what we're doing out here. Off to breakfast now.

This is a webcam shout out to my beloved girlfriend, Sharlene. Dont freak- its hot here and i have been volunteering with the rock yearbook so i got my face painted. We are into day 4 and the japansese guy bruoght so much food (and hats) that we can prolly stay the whole thing. I have been mostly going into the desert and looking at the art. Its amazing but all these ppl just make me feel lonely because i'm not sharing this with you. I love you and will see you soon.

I haven't heard back from you for a few days, hope you are OK?!
Another great day, I found a superb meditation leader from Australia, as well as a Buddhist meditation camp from SF.
Must head back for dinner, but I'm thinking about you and wish you could be here to experience all the wild and wacky people and participate in some of the groups and classes.
Lots of booze around, but no worries, I haven't even a twinge to partake.
I hope you can reply...I'm not sure when I will be leaving, probably Sunday, but not set in cement (or hard clay that is everywhere here).
