Judge McKibben Rules in Favor of BLM Triple B Wild Horse Stampede
The Horses Lose AGAIN!!!
.
Reno, Nev. — Today U.S. District Court Judge Howard McKibben issued a decision in favor of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) which allows the BLM to proceed with the Triple B gather to remove excess wild horses on Saturday, July 16.
“The BLM is pleased with the decision of the court that allows us to move forward with the Triple B gather, where the wild horse population is five times over the minimum appropriate management level,” said Amy Lueders, BLM Nevada Acting State Director.
The BLM will gather and remove approximately 1,726 excess wild horses from in and around the Triple B, Maverick-Medicine and Antelope Valley herd management areas (HMA) and the Cherry Springs Wild Horse Territory located approximately 30 miles northwest of Ely and 70 miles southeast of Elko, Nev. Removal of the excess wild horses is necessary to prevent degradation of rangeland resources and to ensure sufficient forage and water is available for the wild horse population.
The estimated population for the entire gather area is 2,198. The appropriate management level (AML) for the entire area is 472-889 animals. Any horses gathered above targeted removal numbers will be released back to the range so that the remaining population is within AML.
Any gathered mares released back to the range will be vaccinated with the PZP-22 (Porcine Zona Pellucida) fertility control vaccine. Additionally, sex ratios of gathered animals to be returned to the HMAs may be adjusted to achieve an approximately 60 percent male/40 percent female ratio.
The gathered animals will be transported to the National Wild Horse and Burro Center at Palomino Valley (PVC), in Reno, Nev., Gunnison Correctional Facility in Gunnison, Utah, and the Delta Wild Horse Corrals in Delta City, Utah. The animals will be prepared for the BLM adoption program or for long-term holding.
The Cloud Foundation, Craig Downer and Lorna Moffat filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, and moved to enjoin the Triple B gather. Judge McKibben held a hearing Thursday morning and denied the motion to enjoin the gather.

14 members of 'cult-like' group missing
Six adults and eight children of a "cult-like" group in southern California were reported missing Saturday after they left behind notes saying they were going to meet Jesus and dead relatives, authorities say
Police: Missing 'cult-like' group may have plans for mass suicide
By the CNN Wire Staff
September 19, 2010 3:32 a.m. EDT
Members of a church group led by Reyna Chicas were reported missing amid fears they may be planning to take their own lives.
Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A "cult-like" group of 14 Salvadorans -- including eight children -- is missing in southern California after leaving behind notes indicating plans to commit a mass suicide, authorities said.
The six boys and two girls in the group are ages 3 to 17, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
"The letters essentially state that they [missing persons] are all going to heaven shortly to meet Jesus and their deceased relatives," the California governor's office said. "Numerous letters found say goodbye to their relatives. It is believed, through further investigation, that the missing persons' intentions are to commit mass suicide."
Investigators issued an alert Saturday night asking for assistance in locating the group from Palmdale.
The alert was issued after two husbands of church members reported them missing, the governor's office said in a statement.
Though the notes did not mention suicide, the outcome seems like a strong possibility, Whitmore said.
The group is traveling in three vehicles -- a 2004 Nissan Quest, a 1995 Mercury Villager and a remodeled Toyota Tundra, according to Whitmore.
The group was reported missing Saturday afternoon -- after it held a prayer meeting.
"They left behind personal belongings and written notes ... [saying] they're going to see dead relatives and Jesus," Whitmore said.
Items left behind include deeds to homes and cash, indicating "that someone is leaving it behind," Whitmore said.
The spokesman issued a televised plea to the group.
"If you're watching this, come home," Whitmore said. "Come home alive to the people who care for you."
Anyone with information is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
CNN's Ninette Sosa and Rick Martin contributed to this report.

Lancaster May Face Legal Action Over Prayer Vote
Voters in Lancaster overwhelmingly approved Measure I, which would continue to allow city council meetings to begin with prayers that include specific references to Jesus Christ.
When Lancaster's flamboyant mayor R. Rex Parris calls the City Council to order at its next meeting, it's a good bet he'll open the proceedings with a prayer.
A controversial measure calling on residents to allow the City Council to continue beginning its meetings with heads bowed passed by a vote of more than 3-1 in Tuesday's municipal election.
The issue seems far from resolved, however.
Peter Eliasberg, managing attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, said Wednesday the ACLU is considering taking Lancaster to court if the prayers keep singling out Christianity over other religions.
Parris, who was up for re-election, had exhorted people to vote for the prayer initiative even if they didn't want to vote for him.
Apparently quite a few listened, as he won re-election over four challengers by collecting 57 percent of the vote. Voters also extended the mayor's term from two to four years.
Nonbinding Measure I, the prayer measure placed on the ballot by the City Council, put the spotlight on the dusty, high-desert community of 145,000 located 70 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
City officials say clergy of different faiths are invited to lead the opening prayer, but critics have complained that Christian prayers are usually delivered. The Antelope Valley Press reported in February that 11 of 14 prayers over one stretch invoked the name of Jesus Christ.
Eliasberg called that an infringement on religious freedom.
"We don't allow the voters to decide what's the official religion in the city of Lancaster," he said.
The controversy was fueled in part by Parris' statement earlier this year that he was "growing a Christian community" in Lancaster. He later apologized, saying he realized his words had offended non-Christians.
"I do care that they're offended," he told KCAL on Wednesday. "But I don't care enough to tell the majority of this city that they have to stop praying the way they've prayed in this country for over 200 years."Apr 14, 2010 2:24 pm US/Pacific

Attn: California Unlawful Foreclosures and Illegal Evictions this one is coming to a town near you. Plausible deniability and fraud upon the courts causing people to lose homes shall end.
A Springfield judge’s ruling has thrown the entire Massachusetts foreclosure market into disarray by bolstering
claims that lenders improperly seized thousands of Bay State homes.
Experts say Land Court Judge Richard Long’s recent decision to void two Springfield-area foreclosures over
procedural flaws has gummed up resale of foreclosed homes across the state.Attn: California Unlawful Foreclosures and Illegal Evictions this one is coming to a... more
