Steve Ballmer, the chief executive officer of Microsoft, said: “With Internet Explorer 8, we are delivering a browser that gets people to the information they need, fast, and provides protection that no other browser can match.”

PC lovers rejoice, Microsoft have just released the latest version of Internet Explorer 8 and unsurprisingly they're claiming it's their best ever, saying it's quicker, more user friendly and more secure, but they're bound to say that...
Despite hardly knowing anyone that uses IE, it's apparently still used as the main browser on 67% of the world's machines, I know, I thought everyone used Firefox as well.
So that's 67% of the computer owning world who can now benefit from IE8's main new feature, the 'Accelerators.' Despite sounding a bit like a watered down flux capacitator, these new 'Accelerators' sound pretty cool (and that's coming from a Machead!) they allow internet surfers to conduct 'common tasks' (i.e looking up an address on a map) without having to navigate to a new page. The other new feature that sounds pretty cool is “Web Slices," these let the users keep an eye on their favourite sites, all neatly stored away in a revamped favourites bar.
