Hey Current!
So we're switching up the Haiku this week! Instead of DVD-based, we want your 5-7-5 submission to be about the last film you saw!
Sure, it can be about Crank: High Voltage, 17 Again or State of Play--but maybe you were like me and watched Death Wish V: The Crackdown this weekend, or you saw Grey Gardens on HBO.
Basically, hit us up in the comments with your Haiku and you may see it on air this week.
Just, please: no couplets.Hey Current!

If it's Tuesday, then it's time for some DVD Hai--oh, it's Monday? Weird!
Anyway, we've heard it was a slow day on the Internet, but perfect for people to sit down and put their thinking caps on for some Haiku Reviews for DVDs! Sure they officially come out next week, but that doesn't mean you should wait to write your 5-7-5 syllable takes on films previously released.
You know the drill: write your haiku below in the comments and then you could become a performance art piece next Thursday on The Rotten Tomatoes Show!
To see how your wit is transitioned to the screen, check out last week's review of Yes, Man from Current user Romulas80:

We're a bit light this week, but only because we fully believe these will inspire greatness within all of your creativity! This week our primary choices for a haiku review are the Christmas film that was robbed of no Razzies nomination and the film about Hollywood's favorite topic: nazis!
Send us your best 5-7-5 line and your haiku may get performed in its' traditional green screen manner.
For an idea of what it would look like, here's last week's to give you some inspiration:

What's up, Internet?
Tuesday means many things to all of us, but for the office it means another week of DVDs that we have to get our Haiku Review Caps firmly attached to our skulls. And you should too!
As always, submit a 5-7-5 syllable haiku in the comments and let us know which film it relates to. We've had some problem in the past, as people thought they could do a couplet or 5-8-5 haikus (like I did last week.)
That is not true: they must be 5-7-5.
Here's the example from last week's episode and this Quantum of Solace haiku we received from badblokebob via twitter:

Premiering movies get the treatment, but so do DVD releases, trailers, childhood favorites, DVD extras, and film classics. Sprinkle in some irreverent Top 5 Lists and you've got the first movie review show to embrace the way we watch, talk, and over-talk movies. Viewer interaction will be a big part of each episode. By submitting webcam reviews, three word reviews, haiku reviews and comments through this site or responding to specific callouts and questions asked by the hosts during each episode, viewers will help define which films are "fresh" and which are "rotten."For the first time in (human) history, movie review haikus performed on television,... more

Yo, Internet! The time has come again for DVD Haiku callouts! We're earlier this time because we enjoy the simplier things in life, like hearing your majestic attempts at 5-7-5 poetry while watching the latest and greatest that Amoeba Records has to offer us.
And this time is no different! No Sparkly Vampire Men or Failed Marvel franchise this week, instead we've got a Grimdark Brit, a CGI Cyrus and a Failed DC Comic Movie Tie-In!
(Kidding about the last one.)
Submit your Haiku in the comments OR tweet them to @current_movies. You've got until Thursday night at 11pm!Yo, Internet! The time has come again for DVD Haiku callouts! We're earlier this... more

Apparently folks weren't too thrilled with how negative the reviews were for timeless films like Street Fighter:Legend of Chun Li, EagleEyechelon Conspiracy and That Third Film were. Clearly, we went a bit overboard.
But that's where we can make it up to you with DVD Haiku! You know the rules: 5-7-5 (syllables, please) review/preview of upcoming DVDs! This week, we're doing the gems:
+Punisher: War Zone
+Twilight
+Elegy
Make them funny, make them insightful but most of all make sure you post them in the comments before 12am on Sunday. Or send them to us on twitter, @current_movies and we can retweet them for all of Twitteronia to see.Apparently folks weren't too thrilled with how negative the reviews were for... more
