The Dream Responds to Retirement Rumors

Grammy-nominated singer The-Dream has closed the doors on retirement rumors and said certain standards would be required for him to consider recording a fourth solo album. The R&B hitmaker also addressed a recent Twitter message from his account that sparked rumors of a fourth effort.

Dream also addressed rumors of a fourth record in the works that sprang after he tweeted on March 27, "Love/Affair?" "We was having a conversation in the studio, about how if I would do another album, I would name it Love/Affair. Funny thing is, my computer was open and someone else typed it in. They put it in with a question mark and I was like 'Why did you do that? They're going to think it was me,'" he says. "I would have a big chance of wanting to do one if I was able to turn it into a movie like Purple Rain. Nobody wants to see someone do another album just lyrically based. When I'm telling a story, I'd much rather have someone see it," he says. "But I don't even know if I'm going to do Love/Affair. If I can do the movie then Love/Affair would be the soundtrack to that movie." (VIBE)

Dream compared his retirement to former NBA superstar Michael Jordan's back in 2003 last month.

"It's the last album, period," he said in an interview. "I really would like it to be the last one if I could -- in a perfect world...In the back of my mind, I'm thinking a fighter fights. You don't retire on top. [Michael] Jordan didn't retire on top. I'm not saying I'm the best [like him], but I'm the best at what I can do. And I can stop now and say, 'This album is pretty good.'" Last January, Dream said the new album outmatches his previous efforts.

"LoveKing is the best of the Three albums And Its FINISHED!," he wrote regarding his final album, Saturday (January 16) morning. "Pre-Order and buy from a brand you can Trust! Radiokilla Records." (The-Dream's Twitter)

Over the summer, he detailed why a third solo project would be his final.

"I'm almost finished with Love/King," Dream revealed in an interview. "It's the third album and my final album, actually. I'm not doing an album after that. I've accomplished what I've accomplished. I feel like I'd rather kill The-Dream than somebody else kill me. So that's the big headline there, killing The-Dream...It's over with, so nobody has to worry about 'Has he lost it,' 'When's it gonna drop,' 'Where's it at.' I'm giving you the last record 'cause I said it was the last record before you telling me which one is the last record. I'll just tell you." R&B singer The-Dream says T.I. is "in the zone."

"Tip is in a zone, man," Dream said in an interview. "He's in one of those things. But me just being a lyric guy, what makes songs, I think, hits is when it comes from the heart and you really are saying something you mean. And you can feel it through the passion. Every record he played me, I was like, 'Wow.' I could just feel it. It wasn't about judging it. It wasn't about, 'Is this a single or is this that?' It was just, 'Wow, where have you been? Where'd you go?' It was just elevated, and he's elevated. Right now, he's rapping like he's in space. Not a place we don't know -- it's in the same area -- but his vibe is just wider now." (MTV)

The rapper recently promised "aggressive" content on his upcoming solo album.

"I'm happy to be home," T.I. said in a video. "I learned a lot, grew a lot and now I think it's time to put all that to good use. I didn't write too much, people might thought I was doing a lot of writing but I didn't write that much, you know. I didn't get a lot of time to. It was a lot of activity around me so I wasn't really motivated to create. I just want to continue to maintain the level of success I've been fortunate to do over and over again over the years. Well, this album is different in many ways. I think that Paper Trail was a lot more about thoughts and this is more about feelings. And this is significantly more aggressive, at this point in the production. Who knows, I could do ten love songs tomorrow and change the direction but as of right now, it's going hard. It's going hard like classic T.I." (Trap Muzik)

The rapper was released from a halfway house under restrictions in late March.

T.I.'s attorney, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ the rapper -- who's been serving the last 30 days of his sentence under house arrest -- will officially be done today. T.I. will now be placed under 23 days of supervised release ... which means he'll have to be home by 11 PM unless he's performing, when he'll have to be in by 1 AM. The rapper -- real name Clifford Harris -- will also have to complete 400 hours of community service and will be on probation for three years. (TMZ)

Last month, Tip said there were plans to drop his next album in the summer.

"I really do appreciate the support and how hard y'all was going in during the brief hiatus," T.I. said during a conference all. "The support don't go unnoticed and I don't take it lightly. This marks a special day for us, because we putting out the first song off the album, not an official first single, just something to keep the streets warm. It's properly entitled 'I'm Back.' It's a lot of things that needed to be spoken on, you know. In my absence, it was a lot of things that went down, a lot of matters that needed to be addressed and this was the greatest platform for me to do it...Album drops August 24th, title? I got one but I ain't gonna say it yet. It was the first song I did when I came home. You get me fresh out the box going in. I'm sure you guys will enjoy it...Middle of April, beginning of May. The Dream & Christina Milian Welcome First Child

R&B singers The-Dream and Christina Milian welcomed their first child, Violet, last week.

Reports today claim the baby was born on Friday (February 26).

Christina Milian has something to sing about. The actress-singer delivered her first child with husband The-Dream on Feb. 26, People.com reports. Baby Violet will be the fourth child for The-Dream, 31, who already has three kids with his ex-wife. (New York Daily News)

Additional reporting cite their child's name as "Violet Madison Nash."

Christina Milian and The-Dream have welcomed a baby girl! The 28-year-old singer gave birth to daughter Violet Madison Nash at 11.30 p.m. on Friday, her rep confirmed Monday to Us Weekly. The new arrival, delivered via c-section, weighed in at 6 pounds, 10 ounces. (American Superstar Mag)

The couple's wedding took place around the first-week of September 2009.

It all went down close to midnight at the legendary Little White Wedding Chapel -- the same place Britney Spears married that Jason Alexander dude back in 2004. According to Milian'smarriage license, the two said "I Do" at exactly 12:00 AM Friday morning. We're told Milian rented her wedding dress for $200 (including shoes and veil) and The-Dream rented his tux for $100 (including shoes, tie and vest). It's no big surprise they got hitched -- as we first reported, the two applied for a marriage license last month ... and those things are only good for 90 days. (TMZ)

Dream shared his reaction to seeing his wedding photo with Milian land online last December.

"Yeah, I don't know how they got that though," Dream explained in an interview. "That was some, see, most of that stuff, nobody knows, I'm kinda cultural -- she'll do something that she does and I'll agree with it -- but I forget how big she is in that world, in thatblog space world. And she'll be like, 'Oh, I picked this out' and I'll be like, 'Oh, that's cool.' Yeah everybody was like, 'You don't have a hat on?' It's like, I don't sleep with a hat on -- people see things when you're in a different place and they forget, 'Oh, some days he probably did go to church' so it's just a different visual type of thing.
