"CTB" is a short film about a depressed, young artist named Ashley who turns her back on her creative passions in favor for a reckless lifestyle of drugs & alcohol abuse. After growing more & more hopeless down this self destructive path, she decides to kill herself. At that moment, she changes her outward appearance from dark clothes & make up to a cheerful demeanor & bright dress and embarks on a final visit to close friends & family. What follows is an emotional realization that neglecting ones dreams (the truest part of all of us) is a form of suicide in its self.
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative projects. Kickstarter is powered by the unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully funded before it's time expires or no money changes hands.
What was the inspiration of the film?
I have always been known for writing, recording and performing Hip Hop music since I was in middle school. Music was my passion. As time went on I felt less and less attracted to the art form but my desire to be creative grew stronger. After marriage, fatherhood & promotions in the work force I still felt empty inside. Dead, even. One day while on the train going to a job that I absolutely hated, I got up to leave & I saw everyone that was going to work as living corpses! Myself included. We were all dead inside & it showed on the outside! Scary! That was when I decided that I was going to resurrect myself no matter what the odds were & continue to be a creative soul. I have never written a script or even dreamed about filmmaking, but I put all my fears aside and ignored the negative voices (both real and imagined) & set out to see this dream become reality.
What does CTB stand for?
CTB stands for Catch the Bus which is a phrase that means to commit suicide.
Why did you choose such a topic?
Aside from what I explained above, I felt like it's a topic that has to be brought to the forefront. So many young people are facing unimaginable problems (hopelessness, depression, bullying, sexuality discrimination, etc) and I wanted to make a film that shows a minor glimpse of this reality. I also wanted to express a feeling that I had myself: just because you're breathing doesn't mean you're alive. But as long as you're breathing, it's not too late to accomplish your heart's desire.
Where's the money going?
I have been blessed to find such talented and dedicated people who took precious time out of their busy schedules to aid me in this project. Most of these people helped me for free. But post production is a step we can't skimp on. The money from donations will help with promoting our film (DVD artwork, website development, posters, t-shirts, etc), marketing & film festival submissions (Sundance, Tribeca, Slamdance, etc).
What is the general purpose of this film?
After neglecting my creative side for so long, it feels amazing to take a leap of faith into another creative outlet. This film will serve as my production teams calling card as well as other projects already in the works. I also want to spread the message that you don't have to be afraid to try something new.
Thank you for your contributions in making this dream a reality!!"CTB" is a short film about a depressed, young artist named Ashley who turns... more

Mixing alcohol and caffeine is hardly a new concept, but a rash of cases involving students and others who landed at hospitals after drinking beverages that combine the two in a single large can has alarmed college and health officials around the country.
A brand called Four Loko — a fruit-flavored malt beverage that has an alcohol content of 12 percent and as much caffeine as a cup of coffee — has come under particular scrutiny after students who drank it this fall at Ramapo College in New Jersey and Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash., ended up in emergency rooms, some with high levels of alcohol poisoning.

A. Bert B. Oscar C. Cookie D. Elmo
Good question.
It was taken from an article by Ted Powers published by The Association for Psychological Science (previously the American Psychological Society) which was concerned with occasional, appropriate use of humor in increasing student attention and to maintain focus.(1)
Powers defines humor broadly as an event that elicits laughter. It can be anything that creates a positive feeling in students and makes them smile and laugh. Humor captures their attention and is memorable.
He also believes humor in tests may help a teacher avoid activating disturbing memories in their students.
