It brought my husband's chol. down from 310 to 175. He had to stop taking it because it has damaged his liver. He has an ultra sound scheduled for this month. I DO NOT recommend this medication.

Liver count went to over 600. Stopped taking & liver count went back to normal. Then I had a series of tests for pains across my midsection.Have Fatty strands in my Liver. Now I have Rheumatoid Arthtitis.I think it could be the result of taking Lipitor. Do not take - Watch your diet

.every joint in my body is in pain some times the muscle and joints in my angles hurt so much I cant walk in four years time I have gone from an active agile person to an artritic old woman I have to take codine/4 every night just so I can go to sleep. Ten years ago I suffered adult onset of severe asthma, hives and allergy symptoms. I had it for 2 1/2 years before it was diagnosed by an allergist in Portland, Maine with Salicylate Intolerance. I was often in tears and in misery. I took trips to the emergency room to find out why I couldn't breath. My children had to draw hot steamy baths for me so I could soak and catch my breath.
I went through the regular US Medical Gauntlet of allergy tests, OTC Antihistamines and Prescription Medications, X-rays of my sinuses and even Acupuncture and Homeopathic remedies.
Finally I found an allergist in Portland, ME who figured it out. It was Salicylate/Aspirin Intolerance. I had to do a painstakingly difficult elimination diet. I was reactive to even minute quantities of this substance. It is found in most mainstream Americans foods in the form of artificial preservatives (Sodium Benzoate) and food color. At the time I found International Information that said they thought 10% of asthmatics with severe and moderate asthma had this Salicylate Intolerance. Here I found this post in Australia I believe..and it is called Aspirin Intolerance.

This is hidden from American public due to immoral control of of information for profits before ethics...even "cooler" MSNBC is sponsored heavily by Drug Industry Direct to Consumer Advertising.. This needs to stop in the Obama administration.
...and by the way I am 100% fine now. The levels have diminished from my body and I still watch what I eat but I am not so reactive. It took a long time to eliminate them though.

My question is why are children still being prescribed these drugs if we already know they are bad news..and why isn't the media in the USA doing its job and at least looking into why these stories are coming steadily. We hear not a peep!!! cg
