I called the toll free number. They said that I could get tickets for $16.00 each. I said, OH. I thought it was preaching. So this is a concert then? No. It is preaching. But why do you charge money for the gospel? OH. It must be a football game then. NO. It is Joel Osteen preaching. Well, what about poor people I asked?http://www.changingtheplanet.com/2011/12/joel-osteen-preaching-gospel-in-seattle.html
I know that Joel thinks gays are "not God's best plan" http://www.changingtheplanet.com/2011/01/joel-osteen-slams-gays-elton-john.html
-which puts my friends on notice, but, setting that aside, how does a Christian preacher charge money for the gospel of Jesus? For $336, you can get an aisle seat near Joel. This is getting too funny!
Unremarkably, new poll numbers show that nobody - not even people in their own states - likes the nine possible GOP presidential candidates. Oddly, several say God supports them - meaning even He/She is less than faithful.

"Various reports in Singapore media have said that Chinese companies are mass producing fake rice made, in part, out of plastic, according to one online publication Very Vietnam.
The "rice" is made by mixing potatoes, sweet potatoes and plastic. The potatoes are first formed into the shape of rice grains. Industrial synthetic resins are then added to the mix. The rice reportedly stays hard even after being cooked.
The Korean-language Weekly Hong Kong reported that the fake rice is being sold in the Chinese town of Taiyuan, in Shaanxi province.
"A Chinese Restaurant Association official said that eating three bowls of this fake rice would be like eating one plastic bag. Due to the seriousness of the matter, he added that there would be an investigation of factories alleged to be producing the rice," Very Vietnam noted.
Unfortunately, it's not the first time fake rice has been sold in China, according to China's Global Times.
Previously, a company in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province had added flavoring to ordinary rice to synthesize "Wuchang rice," which is regarded to be the best rice in the country.
About 300,000 people were injured and at least six infants died in 2008 when Chinese milk and infant formula was found to be adulterated with melamine, which was thought to help the milk pass nutrition tests.
Later that year, melamine was also discovered in Chinese eggs.

Vladimir Lenin, King Tut and the McDonald's Happy Meal: What do they all have in common? A shocking resistance to Mother Nature's cycle of decomposition and biodegradability, apparently.
That's the disturbing point brought home by the latest project of New York City-based artist and photographer Sally Davies, who bought a McDonald's Happy Meal back in April and left it out in her kitchen to see how well it would hold up over time.
The results? "The only change that I can see is that it has become hard as a rock," Davies told the U.K. Daily Mail.
She proceeded to photograph the Happy Meal each week and posted the pictures to Flickr to record the results of her experiment. Now, just over six months later, the Happy Meal has yet to even grow mold. She told the Daily Mail that "the food is plastic to the touch and has an acrylic sheen to it."
[Related: 'Double Down' among the worst fast food of 2010]
Davies -- whose art has been featured in numerous films and television shows and is collected by several celebrities -- told The Upshot that she initiated the project to prove a friend wrong. He believed that any burger would mold or rot within two or three days of being left on a counter. Thus began what's become known as "The Happy Meal Art Project."
"I told my friend about a schoolteacher who's kept a McDonald's burger for 12 years that hasn't changed at all, and he didn't believe me when I told him about it," Davies told us. "He thought I was crazy and said I shouldn't believe everything that I read, so I decided to try it myself."
Some observers of the photo series have noted that the burger's bun appears at different angles, and therefore aired suspicions that the Happy Meal may not in fact be as "untouched" as the project's groundrules stipulate. Davies says there's a simple explanation for the mobile-bun effect. "The meal is on a plate in my apartment on a shelf," she says, "and when I take it down to shoot it, the food slides around. It's hard as rock on a glass plate, so sure, the food is moving."

The primary problem with the US Patriot Act is best summarized by the US Supreme Court:
“Does the Constitution permit Executive officials to detain an American citizen indefinitely in military custody in the United States, hold him essentially incommunicado and deny him access to counsel, with no opportunity to question the factual basis for his detention before any impartial tribunal...”
Unfortunately, the Supreme Court delivered a mixed verdict relative to this case (03-6696 Hamdi v. Rumsfeld) in that it was ruled that the U.S. government has the power to hold American citizens and foreign nationals without charges or trial, but that detainees can challenge their treatment in U.S. courts.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI is warning police across the country that an anti-government group's call to remove governors from office could provoke violence.
The group called the Guardians of the free Republics wants to "restore America" by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, according to its Web site. It sent letters to governors demanding they leave office or be removed.
Investigators do not see threats of violence in the group's message, but fear the broad call for removal of top state officials could lead others to act out violently. At least two states beefed up security in response.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said he received one of the letters but wasn't overly alarmed.
"We get all kinds of, shall we say, 'interesting' mail, so it's not out of the norm," Pawlenty said Friday. "It got more attention because it went to so many governors."
As of Wednesday, more than 30 governors had received letters saying if they don't leave office within three days they will be removed, according to an internal intelligence note by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The note was obtained by The Associated Press.
The FBI expects all 50 governors will eventually receive such letters.

Washington’s conventional wisdom for explaining the intensity of Republican obstructionism toward President Barack Obama breaks down one of two ways: either it’s a philosophical disagreement over the role of government or a desperate need to stay in line with a radicalized right-wing base.
But there is another way to view the GOP political strategy, as neither principled nor reactive to the rantings of Tea Partiers, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. It is that the Republicans are following a playbook that has evolved over more than four decades, to regain power by sabotaging Democratic presidents.
In this analysis, the Republicans believe they can reclaim the lucrative levers of national authority by making the country as ungovernable as possible while a Democrat is in the White House, essentially holding governance hostage until they are restored to power. Then, the Democrats are expected to behave as a docile opposition “for the good of the country” (and usually do).Washington’s conventional wisdom for explaining the intensity of Republican... more

Sun Chips are made with Corn, and isn't that GMO?
Forget about their compostable bags, what about the ingredients in it?
Here is the list:
Whole Corn, Sunflower Oil, Whole Wheat, Rice Flour, Whole Oat Flour, Sugar, and Salt.
I know of potato chips that are made of Organic corn or potatoes that do not destroy the environment and taste much better.
What's next Current?
Leahl goes away and Sun Chips take her place.
I am very disappointed.
I don't like this direction at all.

Beyond religion, grammar and misspell words…
Ever since I can remember, everything I had to accomplish in my life has been difficult. My childhood memories are full of happy times but at the same time lots of poverty and misfortunes. After finishing high school, I moved to United State with no money, no understanding at all of the language, but very hopeful and excited. Learning English was very challenging and surprisingly satisfactory for me.
Every job I ever had was hard and different, I worked as a waiter, telephone operator, baby sitter, salesperson, promoter, cashier, secretary, and as I learned more of the language, my places of employment changed for the better.
Been an immigrant has been a blessing for me, I am able to speak two languages, learned two cultures, and challenge my self every day.
Despite the fact that throughout my journeys I had always encounter mean, malicious and hateful people, I had also had the privilege to meet the most amazing, caring and lovely people in the world. My father always used to said to me, “Remember you not a piece of gold and because of that not everybody will like you or want you”.
With those words, my father challenged me to accept difficulties and to be my self always.
Recently, as I do, many times, I woke up inspired and ready to do what I love the most to write. I spend a great deal of time writing about my feelings, thoughts, and opinions. My wish was that people understand my views of the world and religion.
However, I received many hateful and angry responses from the grammar police. Many comments were directed to my grammar, misspell words and according to some my lack of education. I was so taken back that I allow my self to fall in to the pit of the game and answer with sarcasm and harsh comments as well. I was so angry; how dare these people not to see my knowledge and heart. One of the bogglers said a sarcastic remark referring to a community college and the fact that I probably did not understand what I was talking. He was so wrong in his asumption; I consider my self knowledable and interested in learning more every day.
In addition, people talked about presentation and gave examples that did not make sense to me. The funny part was some of those same people send me private emails apologizing for been so hard. Those comment reminded me of my father’s lesson and the task in front of me.
I understood, if anyone wants to become a writer, that person must learn to accept criticism and should challenge them selves every day.
Furthermore the most rewarding part of last week, was when people when beyond all the comments and were able to have amazing opinions and open conversations about the subject of religion. It took me a while to find my self and to realize that in order for me to become the writer that I want to be, I most face challenges, misspell words and grammatical errors.
History shows many writers that had never had the privilege to go to an Ivy League school but were able to contribute to the world of literature tremendously.
I never claimed to be an intellectual but a woman that loves to speak her mind and heart and will always be honest with her heritage, learning experience and herself. As a student I have a long way to go but the wrote seems sweet.
My point has not change;
Religion has not placed in modern society!
Every day as I write and talk about my experiences, I will be ready to learn from those who wish to bring me down hiding behind the helpful comment and pretending to try to saved the English language but also from those who provided great deal of new information, and without me even asking they become my teachers.
I forever will be thankful.
I am a creative writer and in my route to become more accurate and sophisticated in my field, I will have tons of misspell words and grammatical errors but the essence of my writing will always remain, and forever will speak my heart.
Brava:DBeyond religion, grammar and misspell words…

Evan Bayh's departure from the candidacy for Senate has left a large void in Indiana politics and with no other candidate approaching the favorability, name recognition, or money that Bayh had behind his candidacy in an already tough year for Democrats and in a lean red state to boot the party is now scrambling for answers and as Katrina VandenHuvel of the Nation asks us, don't laugh, but she and others are seriously suggesting the answer to replace Senator Evan Bayh may be Senator John Mellencamp.
Katrina is a personal acquaintance of the performer who is no stranger to politics. He famously and unapologetically took an anti war stance while at the same time raising funds for veterans, working with the U.S.O. and doing a benefit show at Walter Reed after the scandal concerning the treatment of wounded soldiers there. He also made political hay, over attempts by republicans to use his songs during their campaigns and was at the white house only last week for a concert celebrating the Civil Rights movement.
Because Evan Bayh left the race one day before the filing deadline for the Indiana primary and no other candidate received the needed signatures it is now up to the Democratic party of Indiana to select a candidate and in light of the shocking nature of Evan Bayh's departure and the strangeness of this election cycle where even Ted Kennedy's seat can be filled by a republican state senator there would certainly be less strange occurrences than choosing a populist candidate with universal name recognition in a state which is both rural and populist.
Also writing in advocacy for a Mellencamp campaign, Brent Budowsky, who at one time worked for Bayh's father, Birch Bayh, when he held an Indiana Senate in the 1960s and 70s wrote today in The Hill: "John “Mellencamp is one of the great advocates of small-town America, of the kind of "square deal" for Americans that Teddy Roosevelt once championed. He is a voice for working people and a champion of farmers who puts his talent, his body and his money behind his words.”
As the la times puts it in the article above: "With the Republicans cozying up to all sorts of untested Tea Party oddballs, it would be hard for conservative pundits to engage in any of their customary celeb bashing if Mellencamp were to actually throw his hat in the ring. If in the movie business this is the year of "Avatar," in politics this is the year of the amateur."Evan Bayh's departure from the candidacy for Senate has left a large void in... more

I just watch this video from CBC Broadcast and I can wait to hear comments on this!
http://www.haarp.alaska.edu/haarp/index.html
HAARP is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes.
The HAARP program is committed to developing a world class ionospheric research facility consisting of:
The Ionospheric Research Instrument (IRI), a high power transmitter facility operating in the High Frequency (HF) range. The IRI will be used to temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere for scientific study.
A sophisticated suite of scientific (or diagnostic) instruments that will be used to observe the physical processes that occur in the excited region.
Observation of the processes resulting from the use of the IRI in a controlled manner will allow scientists to better understand processes that occur continuously under the natural stimulation of the sun.
Scientific instruments installed at the HAARP Observatory will be useful for a variety of continuing research efforts which do not involve the use of the IRI but are strictly passive. Among these studies include ionospheric characterization using satellite beacons, telescopic observation of the fine structure in the aurora, and documentation of long-term variations in the ozone layer.

"Many in Germany associate McDonald's with obesity and litter. But the company is now trying to change its image -- by changing its colors. The burger joint has swapped out red for green in an effort to demonstrate its commitment to the environment.
No matter what you think of McDonald's, the company's shrill colors are certainly not easily forgotten. A bright, mustard-colored M on a ketchup-hued background, the signs are almost blinding in their gaudiness.
In Germany, though, the company's colors are changing. While the iconic golden arches will keep their color, they will now be on a green background instead of the bright red one. The reason? McDonald's Germany wants to reposition the restaurant as a bastion of environmental friendliness. Ronald McDonald is becoming a tree hugger."

Janice McCarl, 54, faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of menacing and third-degree assault, reported the Boulder Daily Camera.
As part of the plea she will not have to register as a sex offender. Prosecutor Catrina Weigel told the Camera the victim was disappointed with the result.

These outtakes (via Megan-Fox.net) didn't make the Megan Fox profile in last weekend's NYT Magazine, maybe because they depict the manufactured Megan rather than the real one.
"When I sit down to talk to men's magazines, there's a certain character that I play," she told the NYT Magazine. "She's not fully fleshed out -- she doesn't have her own name -- but she shows up to do men's-magazine interviews."
Megan says girls call her slutty because she is beautiful and smart, but her crotchy posing might also have something to do with it.
