I took these pictures on April 1st last year at the G20 unrest in London.
A line of British Transport Police (BTP) attempted to stop protesters from reaching the RBS bank in Threadneddle street - very close to where the innocent Ian Tomlinson died.
Firstly why was there BTP officers protecting the bank from a large crowd of people? It should of been riot officers pushing back demonstrators with shields as apposed to beating people senseless with batons. The majority of officers on that frontline reacted out of fear. They hit anyone that got in their way. Journalists where hit who were pushed forward by the large crowd. I saw women get hit across the face. I got hit in the knee and could hardly walk for two weeks.
Anyone ballsy enough to attempt to push through the line themselves got dangerously and brutally beaten like this man in the following picture. It is amazing that their was only one death at the G20 protests and disheartening that out of the 300 complaints none of them where dealt with.I took these pictures on April 1st last year at the G20 unrest in London.

In a bit of a non-shocker, the on-again off-again rumors of GT5 making a Holiday 2009 appearance have officially been squashed. During Sony’s TGS press conference today, the “official” release date of the game is now March 2010. You know, the same month as God of War III and just about every other big game that was pushed into that timeframe.
In other words, Gran Turismo 5 is probably now dated… for Holiday 2010.In a bit of a non-shocker, the on-again off-again rumors of GT5 making a Holiday 2009... more

Hey Current dot com! Im super excited because on Monday I booked my flight to Japan! This will be my second year going and my first time going to Tokyo Game Show (TGS). Im also just going to hang out eat some katsu and drink some Chu-Hi. Since its 6 months off that gives me plenty of time to get excited but also plenty of time to learn some Japanese. Last year I knew how to say "excuse me" "hello" "thank you" and "this" and that was about it. So this year Id like to be able to function a bit better and not rely on my friends to translate everything for me. So, I picked up Japanese Coach for DS a while back and figured now was a good time to commit myself to it. Im going to practice it daily from now until the end of September and see if my DS can actually teach me to speak some Japanese.
What I want to know is this, has anyone else tried and really stuck with the language learning games for the DS? Have they helped you?
If you havent tried one or just havent stuck with it Im challenging you now to pick up one of the programs...a language one, a fitness one, a stop smoking one...whatever. Pick one up and stick with it for 6 months. Let me know how it goes and lets see if we really can use our gaming systems to learn with. I'll check back in occasionally to show off my Japanese skills and see how everyone else is doing.
Bonus points to anyone who picks up the Ninja Training game and actually becomes a ninja.Hey Current dot com! Im super excited because on Monday I booked my flight to Japan!... more
