In the world of toons, disability and phobias are treated with a little bit sensitivity and a great lot of adventure. And so whether it's Dumbo with his exceptionally enormous ears, Nemo and his 'lucky' fin or a discordant Mumble's much-disapproved flair for tap dancing, they've all applied these so-called drawbacks to their advantage. In the world of toons, disability and phobias are treated with a little bit... more

Who does not love Betty White? She attended last night’s Time’s 100 Most Influential People Gala in New York where she happens to be in town for her Saturday Night Live hosting duties which we will get to see on Saturday!
Will you be watching? Something tells me their ratings are going to go through the roof. I hope she is her naughty self on the show SNL’s Adam Samberg, who was also at the event told ET that working with Betty this week was:http://www.ineedmyfix.com/2010/05/05/betty-white-times-100-most-influential-people-gala... more

Robert Rodriguez’s “Shorts” is the most puzzling of films. Rodriguez has shown not only great talent, but great range as director: from art house features (El Mariachi, Grindhouse) to more populace fare (the Spy Kid movies).
“Shorts,” now out in DVD and Blue-ray, supposedly falls into the latter category. However, it missed one key ingredient: someone -- anyone -- on the set to tell Rodriguez, “Are you kidding me?”

In Funny People, George Simmons (Adam Sandler) has the world by the balls scrotum. His films are funnier than Jerry Lewis in his prime. He has a stack of scripts and a herd of producers lined up to throw millions of dollars at him. He gets $300,000 for an appearance at a corporate event.
But blood tests reveal he has AML, a rare form of leukemia, and the prognosis is grim. Doctors tell him he’s “past the point where traditional” treatments work. So he’s placed on an experimental regimen that has only an 8% success rate.
Surprise. This is a Judd Apatow film, and I suspect much will be made by some of its “darker” aspects. But it’s not that great of a departure for him. His films -- that is, those he writes and directs -- all are funny but have serious undercurrents... Funny People is Apatow at his hilarious best. There are so many gut-busting, knee-slapping, thigh slapping lines thrown out one after the other you’ll leave the theater needing physical therapy. But it will be worth it.In Funny People, George Simmons (Adam Sandler) has the world by the balls scrotum.... more
