You may have heard the news on Current.com/Movies, but a director has been attached to the third film in the Twilight franchise: David Slade. Best known for Hard Candy and adapting 30 Days of Night, Slade will tackle fangs once again with the third film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
[Side Note: wtf is up with that title?]
Nikki Finke broke the TOLDJA!!!!! news yesterday, weeks after being burned burned by Summit in the LA Times, and had hinted at it on Tuesday.
We checked around the Internet to see if this was important or not. Here's what we found:
Latino Review re-ran the press release Finke had.
Mr. Beaks at Aint It Cool asked the same question we just did.
E!Online is non-plussed.
MTV Movies Blog says Slade is smart and more of a risk-taker than New Moon director Chris Weitz.
Entertainment Weekly boiled everything down to a paragraph.
indieWire took two paragraphs.
Access Hollywood copied and pasted the press release and then the Wikipedia plot summary.
And we just stopped caring. Yawn.

Way back in 2006, Sam Raimi picked up the rights from Street and Smith Publications to bring the classic pulp comic The Shadow to the big screen again. As most of you know, The Shadow was originally brought to the big screen by Russell Mulcahy, and starring Alec Baldwin, back in 1994. But in January of this year, we reported a rumor saying that Raimi was interesting in potentially directing The Shadow, but that seemed like it would be unliekly. Now Latino Review is reporting that Fox has picked up The Shadow for around $1 million and Raimi is attaching David Slade, of 30 Days of Night and Eclipse, as director for the time being.

Following Radiohead's collaboration with MTV Exit ("End Exploitation and Trafficking") last year, the Killers have provided their song "Goodnight, Travel Well" as a soundtrack to a new human trafficking PSA.
The video is currently being broadcast on MTV networks around the world, with the potential to reach over 500 million people. It was created to raise awareness about and help prevent sex trafficking, which is a problem much more common than most people realize.
More than 1.2 million children are being trafficked each year and nearly 80 per cent of all trafficking is for sexual exploitation, and the most at risk are girls. There is almost no country in the world that isn't affected by sex trafficking in some way.
The powerful video was directed by David Slade ("Hard Candy") and provides insight into the realities of trafficking.
More information is available from UNICEF:

Two nights ago, /Film’s Brendon Connelly unearthed an old interview segment in which David Slade said he would rather get shot rather than view Twilight during that film’s theatrical release. This was an interesting stance, since Slade is now slated to direct the third film in the Twilight saga, Eclipse. Slade related a Twitter message he had made from his now-deleted account, in which he described his decision-making process for whether or not to see the film:
Twilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on acid? No, not even on acid? Twilight at gun point? Just shoot me.
Naturally, this created a firestorm of criticism in the Twilight community. Slade was recently compelled to respond, and Twilight Lexicon has published an e-mail from Slade in which he repudiates his previous remarks. Two nights ago, /Film’s Brendon Connelly unearthed an old interview segment in... more
