Human Rights Day 10th December 2010
Calling one and all
Mass People's Assembly in celebration and support of "Human Rights"
Unite as ONE on this day. Make your voices heard.
...Let us exercise our right to freedom of speech and peaceful demonstration
We are calling all people to join us in free and peaceful demonstration to celebrate this day "Human Rights Day"
The public assembly will begin at 12 Noon outside number 10 Downing Street in Whitehall, Westminster, London SW1.
This is an autonomous event and all are asked to maintain the peace and equilibrium in the spirit of celebration.
We do not want to pay for the mistakes of the bankers; we do not want the self elected quango government and councils to decide on unjust and repressive cuts.
We want free education, we want better health care, we want job security, and we want affordable, available housing.
We want real reform. We want the banks to be ordered to give their bonus money back, and pay back the money lent to them from the public's purse. We want vodafone to pay its taxes.
We want real proportional representation where all votes are counted.
We want war criminals to be brought to book.
We want fully transparent public consultations on all things that affect the people.
Government and councils decisions should be held to account by the people.
We want our government to begin bringing troops home from illegal wars, we want fair taxes with a say in how those taxes are spent by any government.
We want civil rights upheld.
We want human rights respected and recognized.
We are the people

Shouting from your cage
None brought to book, it must seem strange
That when you look each and every day
Unjust laws keep on chipping away
Shouting from your houses won’t change a thing
Who’s gonna stop them stealing all the gold you bring
Freedom & democracy locked in their cage
Liberty’s a word they block at every stage
Now’s a time for a new leaf to turn
A different page where no one’s getting burned
Don’t go on sharing their rage
People take your selves to the main stage
Let me hear you say

Let me hear you say my flag, my tag, my revolution
So get with the White Flag Revolution

General Peace Strike
Saturday 20th November 2010
Ongoing….
“Bring Our Troops Home”
The war in Afghanistan has entered its 10th year, longer than World War I and World War II combined.
77% of the general public do not support the illegal war and occupation of Afghanistan.
340 service personnel have been killed – twice the number killed in the Iraq war to date, with over 4,000 seriously wounded field hospital admissions,.
Tens of thousands of unarmed innocent Afghan civilians have been killed since 2001, with 2010 the worst year yet. Only the dead have seen the end of war!
Ministry Of Defence Operations Factsheets ref: http://www.mod.uk/
Too many innocent lives in Afghanistan are being lost.
What for?
“Afghanistan Time for Peace.”
To Stop War – The People Must Stop!
“Everyone together will make a difference,
Peace has no enemies...”
Please Join:
End the war…… End the war…… End the war…… End the war…… End the war…… End the war
A STOP THE WAR demonstration will take place at speakers corner in Hyde Park from 12 noon, Peacestrike will also be attending the event to network and make a stand for peace.
Please add yourself to the facebook page - peacestrike (parliament square) and also to our mailing list – mail@peacestrike.org for information of a proposed peaceful direct action leading from Hyde Park on that day. Book transport, bring tents, sleeping bags and refreshments, white flags, make banners, placards. Be prepared to stay as long as needed. Help leafleting and campaign with us to mobilise the widest possible support. Online media can also reach millions. Use Facebook, Twitter, your email, website, blog, Please network etc.
“Let’s UNITE now for future Peace.”
The people are saying;
“CUT THE WAR, NOT OUR BUDGETS!”
Listen to the people
Why it's time for the troops to come home: We, the people, have nothing more to lose by taking a stand now for common humanity. We need UK forces to withdrawn soon; we need to break the NATO coalition. If we don't act now, this could result in an escalation of war into Iran. So much bravery, loyalty, devotion; so many young lives already destroyed. Unmanned drone planes continue to bomb Pakistan daily, despite the fact that NO declaration of war has been made. This is not reported within mainstream media. The war in Afghanistan is a mess. The insurgency grows, and why wouldn't it: foreign troops have invaded and occupied their country! The people responsible for 9/11 are no longer there. So why are we? Why are we offering up the lives of our sons and daughters every single day, for no reason anyone can define. The October 20th Governments budgets cuts are upon us. These are the severest spending cuts since the 1930s – all in order to fund an illegal war. Prime minister Cameron says our British troops will be in Afghanistan at least another five years at a cost of £5bn a year, while cutting child benefits to save £1bn a year and cutting housing benefit to the poor to save £1.8bn a year. Following the successful withdraw of our service personnel, we, as a country must take responsibility for ongoing humanitarian aid and support to the people of Afghanistan.
This war is unwinnable
Please join this crucial opportunity in London, and other cities across the UK, which will give back a voice to the anti-war majority in this country and tell the politicians the time for peace is... NOW!
More information will be available nearer to the event, please check your e-mails and facebook postings. Contact: 07886-662-091 e-mail: mail@peacestrike.org

DEMOCRACY VILLAGE DECLARATION AND INVITATION
By raddie, on May 24th, 2010
We are a group of concerned citizens who have gathered on Parliament Square to let the world know that we are deeply troubled by the way our taxes and resources are wasted on illegal and inhuman wars.
There are many issues being campaigned for among us, as our beliefs are diverse. But we strive to use this public land as an open forum where any issue can be discussed. All ideas for building sustainable futures on our beautiful planet are welcomed.
We are non-violent but we actively resist any attempt to suppress our rights of assembly and free speech. We will remain here until all troops have returned from foreign soil.
We believe that big changes begin with local action, and local action begins in your own front garden. That's why we have created this democratic, self-sufficient village directly in the front garden of the MPs who continue to ignore our ongoing environmental, social and economic concerns.
You are hereby invited to come to the Democracy Village and get involved.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!
