Not too long ago, we ran a Bohemian Rhapsody parody starring The Muppets, and now we’ve come across another parody of the classic Queen song — this time based on the Battlestar Galactica ‘verse. It’s a pretty hilarious lyrical spin on the series, and fans will find a lot to love. BSG virgins, and those still working through the show, should steer clear however. It’s chock full of spoilers right up until the end of the series.
While the vocals could use some work, the song’s lyrics do a rather brilliant job of bringing BSG nerd fanaticism to the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody. I particularly enjoyed this bit:
I see a little opera house inside my head.
There were five, dressed in white, or perhaps it was Gandalf?
Galen’s gonna go nuts. Who ate all the donuts? Lee?
Lee Apollo! Lee Apollo!
Lee Apollo! Lee Apollo!
Lee Apollo ate them whole.
He’s saying “D’oh!” “D’oh!” “D’oh!” “D’oh!” “D’oh!”
Three’s just a skin-job, nobody loves her.
Three’s just a skin-job, princess warrior.
She drives a Hybrid, a prophecizor!

New York Post blogger Reed Tucker has been speaking to producer Todd Black. Their chat was ostensibly about Tony Scott’s The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 rehash though Tucker valiantly swung in with a few Spider-Man 4 questions too. Black gamely discussed the involvement of Kirsten Dunst, the villain they have in mind for the movie (what? only one?), and the rumoured wedding between Peter Parker and MJ. But what did he reveal? It’s all coming up, right after this break…New York Post blogger Reed Tucker has been speaking to producer Todd Black. Their chat... more

Empire Magazine spoke to Eli Roth at Cannes, and have now (almost a week after everybody got home from the festival) seen fit to reveal what the conversation uncovered. As discussed before, Roth is planning to shoot a feature length expansion of his Grindhouse trailer Thanksgiving, and to do it fast, quick and cheap. He’s restating that the film will be shot in just eighteen days, and compares the approach to how he shot his film-within-the-film for Inglourious Basterds.Empire Magazine spoke to Eli Roth at Cannes, and have now (almost a week after... more

Some will be sad, some will rejoice, others still will shrug but Robert Rodriguez and Rose McGowan’s proposed Barbarella is, according to the man himself, dead. Talking to MTV, the director has revealed that he turned down $70 million in finance because of a tricky little clause in the small print.
The money would have come from a German company and they were requesting he shoot and carry out post in Germany too. He says:
Nothing against Germany, but I have five kids and I was like, ‘God, I don’t know if we can do that. I don’t know if I can be away that long.’
I can understand this, completely. There was an option to take his kids to Germany too, I suppose, but that wouldn’t necessarily be fair on them either. Or… the other version of events might be true - those old rumors about Rodriguez and McGowan splitting up and that scuppering the movie. Though I don’t know why he’d not just make the film with another star….?Some will be sad, some will rejoice, others still will shrug but Robert Rodriguez and... more
